(Minghui.org) Ms. Jin Xiaorong has practiced Falun Dafa for three years. She was illegally arrested and indicted because of her belief but could not find a local lawyer willing to defend her in Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province, so she hired two lawyers from Beijing. The scheduled court date was postponed from April 22 to May 14.
Ms. Jin, vice chairman of the Panzhihua City Water Company union, was taken away at work by plainclothes officers on August 31, 2013. The Dongqu Procuratorate approved the arrest on September 30, 2013. It returned the case to the Domestic Security Division for additional investigation on January 13, 2014, because of insufficient evidence. The Dongqu Procuratorate charged Ms. Jin Xiaorong on January 30, 2014.
It was later discovered that Ms. Jin's colleague, Wang Xiandong, was arrested before her. Police found Ms. Jin via QQ chat records and arrested her.
Ms. Jin was detained in the Nanshan Hotel for two or three days. Then she was transferred to the Panzhihua Detention Center. In protest of the illegal detention, she refused to cooperate with the guards or allow them to take her picture. She was choked and slapped in the face until her mouth bled. She was also forcibly searched. The guards pushed her down by twisting her left arm behind her back. Her left eyebrow was so swollen that it took over two weeks to heal.
Ms. Jin was charged with spreading Falun Gong information through the Internet, downloading articles from overseas Falun Gong websites, and purchasing A4 paper, stickers and over 10,000 copies of coated paper to print Falun Gong information.
Ms. Jin began to practice Falun Gong in 2011 and gained both physical and mental health. She takes care of her parents and has a good relationship with her colleagues. Both her boss and colleagues consider her highly. After she was arrested, however, the Panzhihua City Water Company removed her from her position.
Ms. Jin's parents are distraught and are calling for her immediate release. Her mother suffers from stomach cancer and has had three-quarters of it removed. She has been repeatedly admitted to the hospital intensive care unit. She is very weak, and needs her daughter's care.
