(Minghui.org) Police officers from Gaomi City and Weifang City in Shandong Province illegally arrested 10 Falun Gong practitioners on April 4, 2014. The authorities had been monitoring the practitioners' phones for more than a month, and over 100 officers participated in the arrests. The officers from the Gaomi Domestic Security Division were rewarded with bonuses for their collaboration.
Ms. Chen Guangxia and Mr. Zhang Menglei from Qingdao went to Gaomi to deliver Falun Gong informational DVDs and were arrested along with Ms. Xing Xiuling from Gaomi. Those involved in the arrest were officers from the Weifang 610 Office and the Gaomi 610 Office, the Gaomi Domestic Security Division, and several police stations.
The police then went to Mr. Shan Yicheng's workplace and arrested him. They also confiscated 1,000 yuan from him.
Over 20 officers from the Gaomi Domestic Security Division and the Xiazhuang Police station broke into Mr. Qin Songfa's home at around 3:00 p.m.. They arrested Mr. Qin, wife Ms. Xu Xiuzhen, and niece Ms. Xu Li. His daughter Ms. Qin Shaoying, who has a mental illness, was arrested as well. They exposed Ms. Xu's upper body when they forcibly carried her into a police car. The police searched Mr. Qin and confiscated 150 yuan from him. They ransacked his house that evening, confiscating 200 yuan and some personal belongings.
Mr. Qin was interrogated for 38 days and was handcuffed and shackled during interrogation. In order to collect evidence to charge him, the police brought him back to his house to search again.
Ms. Xu Li was interrogated for two days from 9:00 a.m. to midnight. She was deprived of restroom use and was threatened. A police officer kicked and bruised her legs while they were interrogating her.
When Mr. Wang Zhili returned to his home in Lixian Village at around 5:00 p.m., he was arrested by officers from the Jiangzhuang Town Police Station who broke into his home earlier. The police confiscated a computer, laptop, printer, a satellite dish, and 9,250 yuan. Mr. Wang was taken to the police station.
The Procuratorate approved the arrests of the following six practitioners on May 12: Ms. Xing Xiuling, Ms. Chen Guangxia, Mr. Shan Yicheng, Mr. Zhang Menglei, Mr. Du Qihai, and Mr. Liu Wenming.
Mr. Wang Zhili was released on May 4, and Mr. Qin Songfa, Ms. Xu Xiuzhen, and Ms. Xu Li were released on May 12.
Officers Sun Lizhong, Mao Xiaohu, and Xu Libao from the Gaomi Domestic Security Division participated in the arrests.
