(Minghui.org) Eight attorneys appeared in the Anshan Tiexi District Court of Liaoning Province on May 6, 2014, to defend Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Shang Jing, Ms. Guo Sufang, Mr. Zhang Xu, Mr. Tang Chao, Ms. Gao Sujuan, Mr. Yao Yuandong, and Mr. Long Gang.
No verdict was reached, and on May 23 the Tiexi Procuratorate returned the case to the police, so that it may attempt to gather more evidence.
Before the trial, the Anshan Political and Legal Committee Affairs and the 610 Office attempted to prevent the attorneys from entering the courtroom. They strongly protested and were allowed in. After arguing back and forth, the lawyers and the court could not reach an agreement, and the trial was adjourned.
Arrest and Prior Trial Attempts
The seven practitioners were arrested in the Tiexi District in Anshan by officers from the Shenyang Police Department and the Tiexi Police Department on the evening of October 27, 2013.
The court had planned to try them on March 21 and again on April 1, 2014, but were unsuccessful.
