(Minghui.org) Mr. Wang Dawu, a Falun Gong practitioner from Lingyuan, Liaoning Province, is an employee of the Beizifu Cement Factory. He was arrested by Domestic Security Division officers at his workplace on April 14, 2014.
The officers didn't show any documents or arrest warrant, and confiscated many personal and office items. He has been illegally detained despite there being no evidence of a crime.
Mr. Wang’s family went to visit him on April 21, 2014, and asked Li Guocai about the reason for Mr. Wang’s arrest, and what evidence existed.
Li Guocai replied, “You don’t need to know. Just sign the paper. You will know about it once you see the notice.” The document said only, “Disrupting the implementation of law with Falun Gong.”
The public security authorities violated legal requirements and processes by notifying the family after the arrest, despite the absence of any evidence of a crime. The family member refused to sign, and Li Guocai ordered three police officers to force the family members out of the building.
Li Guocai, of the Aohan Banner Domestic Security Division, tortured Mr. Wang to extort a “confession” on April 28, 2014. He forced him to state that he had distributed five copies of Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. Mr. Wang was threatened with continued torture and denial of access to a lawyer. He was tortured until he became unconscious, and was forced to sign the document when in a half-conscious state.
The National Constitution, Code number 36 states that “Citizens of the People's Republic of China have the freedom of religious belief. No state institution, public organization, or individual may compel citizens to believe in religion or no religion; nor may they discriminate against citizens based on their religious beliefs.”
Furthermore, there is no existing Chinese law that states that Falun Gong is a cult.
Given the above, Aohan Banner security authorities violated the law by arresting Mr. Wang.
