(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners’ families filed an appeal to the Procuratorate against the police who arrested their four family members on May 4, 2014.
In their appeal statement, they described their loved ones' ordeals: “Their experience is heart-wrenching. Even though they are innocent, they were arrested and illegally detained. Calamities befell them and their families. We are very worried about them. The elderly, the children, and sick family members are home unattended. When Ms. Tang Qingying was detained, her husband was hospitalized.
“We request the release of Ms. Yin Qiuyang, Ms. Tang Kaiju, Ms. Xiao Guiying, and Ms. Tang Qingying so that they can return to their families.”
Arrest
Several police officers broke into the home of Mr. Wang Xuehong and his wife, Ms. Du Ziai, on April 8. Practitioners Luo Jiabing and Zhang Chunqiu, who were living in Mr. Wang’s house at the time, were also arrested.
Five practitioners – Ms. Wang Yuying, Ms. Liu Yuer, Ms. Zou Guiliang, and Ms. Zheng Hongxia – who later went to Mr. Wang Xuehong’s home, were also interrogated and searched by the police. They even tried to force Ms. Zheng to take off her pants and be searched. She refused.
Mr. Wang Xuehong was released after 10:00 p.m. The other five practitioners were taken to Huaihua Detention Center.
The family said, “The police never showed Mr. Wang and Ms. Du their identifications. They didn't show them a search warrant. They didn't provide a list of items taken from their house, let alone sign such a list.”
Seeking Their Release
The next morning, four of the above mentioned practitioners and the family members of the five arrested practitioners went to Hecheng Domestic Security Division, demanding that their relatives be released.
Over a dozen police officers sent by the Hecheng 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, and the Yingfeng Police Station took the four practitioners to a hospital and forced them to have blood drawn. Ms. Tang Kaiju’s family got there in time, so they stopped the officials from having her blood drawn. Four practitioners were detained at Huaihua City Detention Center that night.
Four family members stated in the appeal statement that they asked the Hecheng Police Department to respect the law and request that the responsible parties be ordered to explain and publicly apologize for forcing the practitioners to have their blood drawn.

Years of Persecution
It also states in the appeal statement: “Since July 1999, Ms. Yin Qiuyang, Ms.Tang Kaiju, Ms. Xiao Guiying and Ms. Tang Qingying have been severely persecuted. Our families have also been suffering significantly. They were detained, fined, sent to forced labor camps, sentenced, and tortured based on unsubstantiated charges.”
The following recounts only part of what the four practitioners went through.
Ms. Xiao Guiying is 63 years old. She was sentenced twice and was imprisoned for 11 years. She was tortured on the tiger bench, shocked with electric batons, handcuffed with her arms behind her back and tied to a bed for several days. She was also force-fed, had her blood drawn against her will. Inmates kicked her, beat her, and stuffed towels in her mouth. Two of her teeth were knocked out. They did let her use restroom and threatened that if she relieved herself in the cell, they would force her to ingest her own waste. They stepped on her and dragged her, leaving her covered with bruises. Two years after Ms. Xiao went home, one of her feet was still numb.
Ms. Tang Qingying is 67. She was sentenced twice and spent 10 and a half years in prison. Her parents missed her so much that they passed away. Ms. Tang’s retirement pension has been withheld for over 10 year, a total of over 200,000 yuan.
Ms. Yin Qiuyang, 65, was arrested multiple times and sent to forced labor camps. In 2008, she was sentenced to three years in prison. As a result of being tortured, her vision has deteriorated.
Ms. Tang Kaiju is 51 years old and lives in Sifangtian Village, Shimen Township, Hecheng District. In the summer of 2000 she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong with five others and was detained for 15 days and fined 2,500 yuan. She was taken away from the store she owned by police in the afternoon on May 28, 2008, and sentenced to three years of imprisonment.
