(Minghui.org) Whenever Minghui publishes one of Master's new articles, I always read it over and over again. After repeatedly studying Master's “Fa Teaching on World Falun Dafa Day,” I better understand the seriousness of cultivation.
The attitudes of mainland Chinese are very different than before. It's as if they are waiting for Dafa disciples to help them quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. I know this is due to the rapid progress of Fa-rectification.
“Use My Real Name Please!”
Earlier this year, apart from participating in various Dafa projects, I made good use of my time by helping Chinese people quit the Party via the Internet. During one online chat, a woman told me that she was not certain whether she had joined the CCP's Young Pioneers when she was young.
I suggested that she ask her former elementary school classmates. She replied, “Just in case I did join, please help me withdraw from the Party now!” Seeing that she was able to discern good from evil, I asked, “Do you want to quit using your real name or a pseudonym?” Without a moment's hesitation she said, “Use my real name, please.” After she quit, she asked me to teach her the Dafa exercises.
It's like Master said,
“And with quitting the Party, it takes just a few sentences of explanation and they get it. And when they do quit and you suggest a pseudonym, they say, “No need. I’ll use my real name.” (“Fa Teaching on World Falun Dafa Day”)
In Order to Save More Beings, I Need to Improve My Character
I chatted with a man recently who asked me, “Were you successful in persuading people to quit the regime today? I am so happy that you helped me quit; you did such a magnificent thing for me. I wish I had met you earlier!”
During one Internet call, a man said, “I agree that the Party is evil but why do I need to withdraw from it? The CCP is the CCP, and I am me!” Then, I told him about the regime's practice of live organ harvesting and the fact that humans need a conscience or else evil will prevail.
I gave him the example of Nero's persecution of the Christians, in which men were pitted against lions in amphitheaters across Rome. “Instead of the spectators standing up and opposing the terrible spectacle before them,” I explained, “they cheered and roared with laughter when the lions savagely attacked one of the defenseless Christians.
“Things are different today. People know how evil the Party is so they want to distance themselves from it, before heaven destroys it. What side do you stand on: good or evil?”
In the end, the man told me, “Now I understand you. People should not align themselves with the evil CCP, or else they will suffer the same fate as it does in the future. Thank you for helping me withdraw!”
I realized that in order to save more beings, I need to improve my character.
Improving Our Character Helps Eliminate Interference
On one Internet call, a young man told me that he was willing to quit the party, but only if I agreed to turn on my computer's video camera. “Sorry, I don’t have a camera,” I told him. “If you don't do a live video call with me, then I won’t quit,” he retorted. When I told him that he need not adopt such a rigid stance, he suggested that we end the call.
I started to get anxious. After I looked within and viewed the problem with righteous thoughts, I realized that I had not done a very thorough job of clarifying the facts.
I continued talking to him about the Chinese regime's practice of live organ harvesting and the efforts that the international community has made to stop these crimes against humanity. I gave up the thought of trying to get him to quit the Party, and instead focused on appealing to his innate goodness.
In the end, his knowing side won out and he understood the truth. He said he was very grateful that I had taken the time to help him quit. I realized that only when we improve our character can we eliminate interference.
Master said,
“As they see it, ‘If you are to save me, you have to reach my level first, and you must have this measure of mighty virtue before you can save me. Without such mighty virtue, without having reached my stature, how could you save me?’” (“Dafa Disciples Must Study the Fa”)
Every Thought We Have Is Critical to Our Cultivation
Regarding the issue of practitioners going back to China to visit their family,Master said,
“... nearly half of our practitioners outside of China have gone back to visit China, and some go back and forth constantly. … I know that in many cases after a person went back, the CCP sought him out for “a chat.” Everything you said, and however you handled it—countless gods saw it. (“Fa Teaching on World Falun Dafa Day (Questions & Answers)”)
Although I did not go back to the mainland, I realized that every thought we have is critical to our cultivation.
Master said,
“And in fact, there are eyes in every tiny particle of the air. … In the macrocosm and in the microcosm, all beings are closely watching all these things on the earth. They know Dafa disciples' every single action and every single thought. Everything that Dafa disciples do is clearly displayed before the eyes of higher beings. So be sure to do well and win their admiration.”(“Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston”)
Whenever our group sold tickets to the Shen Yun Performing Arts show, I was especially mindful that my thoughts needed to conform to the Fa, lest I develop attachments that would foil our efforts to save sentient beings. For example, sometimes when a person was just one step away from buying a ticket, their friends or family members would say something that would cause that person to not go ahead with the purchase.
How should we deal with the challenges that come up in our daily lives? How can we understand everything in light of the Fa? For me, studying the Fa with a calm mind, looking within, and measuring myself according to the Fa, is the answer.Only then am I able to control my every thought and see each situation clearly, instead of viewing things through the lens of my notions.
The Harmful Effects of Atheism
When I talk to Chinese people about quitting the Party, I can feel the harmful effects of atheism. Most of these people don't believe that good is rewarded with good, and evil with evil. Some Chinese police officers laugh at me when I tell them about good and evil, and that anyone who arrests Falun Gong practitioners will suffer karmic retribution.
The old forces have arranged many bad things for beings within the Three Realms, especially for the Chinese people. They have used people to commit evil deeds. The more that I become aware of the old forces' arrangements, the more firmly I deny them and the stronger my righteous thoughts become.
It Takes Great Vigilance to Cultivate Oneself
I often ask myself why I am still holding onto strong human attachments. I feel that I am letting down Master, myself, and countless sentient beings. I will be more diligent in seizing the opportunity to cultivate myself and improve my character!
