(Minghui.org) After attending the 2014 New York Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference and celebrating the 22nd anniversary of Falun Dafa's introduction to the public, five of us were waiting for our flight back to Vancouver at the JFK airport on May 16. There, we had a pleasant encounter with five college students from the United Kingdom.
Five college students learn the Falun Dafa exercises while waiting at the airport
There was about an hour before our flight would begin boarding, so we looked around to find some seats in the crowded waiting area. We spotted two unoccupied seats beside a group of young men. Two chairs were not enough for our group of five, but they were better than nothing, and we could take turns sitting.
When they saw us coming, the young men scooted over to the low metal table between two rows of chairs and gave up their seats for us. We tried to tell them to stay put, but they were very generous and insisted. So we began to talk.
They were students from Newcastle College in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne City, United Kingdom who just arrived in America for a tour and were waiting for their friends to meet them in New York.
We told them we were from Canada and had just attended an international Falun Dafa conference and celebration in New York. We showed them Falun Dafa fliers and told them that this traditional cultivation practice is based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. We talked about the grand parade near the United Nations and the rallies the day before.
They asked about the musical instruments we carried so we told them about the Divine Land Marching Band.
The four young men and young woman were very interested. They asked us to demonstrate the exercises and then they wanted to learn the exercises, too. So we taught them the Falun Dafa exercises right there in the waiting area.
A college student from the UK learns the Falun Gong exercises and was able to sit in the double lotus position.
After they learned the exercises, we showed them where online to find information on Falun Dafa practice sites in their area. One of the young men named Will said he played trombone and he hoped he could join the Divine Land Marching Band in the parade next year.
We believe these young people have a great connection with Falun Dafa and we had a predestined relationship with them too. Teaching them the exercises took about an hour and by then, our flight began to board. So we shook hands, said goodbye, and hoped our paths would cross again one day.
