(Minghui.org) The “Youth Education Center Against Heretical Organizations” was established in Baise City, Guangxi Province, in May 2014. It is another way the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) brainwashes school children into being against Falun Gong.
The program was set up by the Baise City Municipal Committee, the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and the 610 Office. Meant as a "model," the program is to be promoted nationwide in the future.
Located in the Baise Science and Culture Center for Youth, the organization opened its doors on May 13. Videos, audios, window displays, books, bulletin boards, charts, and pictures slandering Falun Gong and its founder are employed.
It has been confirmed that the Longlin County Middle School, Leli County Central School, and several other schools have already brought into the project and established similar programs.
Feng Zhiwu, head of the Baise 610 Office, has been aggressively attacking Falun Gong at public meetings and organizing brainwashing centers. Feng is responsible for the initiative to “thoroughly investigate” and “clean up all Falun Gong related material.” The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Baise has escalated as a result.
Targeting School Children
Feng is now targeting school children, feeding them CCP ideology and slandering Falun Gong. He often personally participates in the activities.
For example, Feng and a group of investigators visited Baise No. 1 Elementary School, Baise No. 7 Middle School, and Baise Science and Culture Center for Youth on May 20, 2014, and Longlin County Middle School on July 3, 2014, to check on the schools' progress in implementing the “Anti Heretical Organization” initiative.
For the second time since 2010, Baise No. 1 Elementary School held a school wide “criticism assembly” on May 16, 2014. School principle Ji Qiufeng gave a speech slandering Falun Gong, to which the students chanted their agreement.
Dongjing Central Elementary School held a signature assembly on April 16. Teachers and students were to sign a pledge slandering Falun Gong.
Xilin County Middle School held a “Refusal to Join a Heretical Organization Signature Assembly” on April 11, 2014. School principle Ji Zhengxiong and assistant principle Lu Haiping slandered Falun Gong in their speeches.
Several other middle and elementary schools in nearby counties held similar assemblies.
The Jinxi County Education Bureau distributed propaganda booklets to the 45,130 students in the county. Teachers in the schools were questioned. Those who practice Falun Gong and refused to abandon their belief were immediately removed from their posts.
Baise is a poor city. Families can barely afford textbooks for their children. Teachers don't get paid on time and often don't receive their full salary. It is still a question as to where the funding for the new center came from.
