(Minghui.org) Fuqing Men's Prison in Fujian Province is again holding brainwashing classes in an attempt to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their faith. Mr. Zuo Fusheng, along with other detained practitioners, were recently transferred to a brainwashing class at Nanyu Women's Prison.
Mr. Zuo's mother, who is over 80 years old, went to visit her son on June 23, 2014, which was visitation day. Prison guards at Fuqing Prison refused her request and told her that her son was not at the prison.
One guard told her that Mr. Zuo was currently in the “studying stage” and was not allowed visitors. The guard suggested that she leave her phone number and told her they would call her when it was time to see her son. However, she insisted on seeing him that day. Mr. Zuo's friend, who accompanied Mr. Zuo's mother, pointed out rightly to the guard that it was the mother's right to see her son and that the prison deprived her of this right if she was denied visitation.
Due to his mother's insisting on seeing her son, Fuqing Men's Prison had to contact Nanyu Women's Prison and arranged for Mr. Zuo's mother to see her son at Nanyu Women's Prison.
Mr. Zuo was illegally arrested in January 2011. His younger sister, Ms. Zuo Xiuyun, tried to redress the injustice of her brother, and police retaliated by also arresting her in October 2011. Ms. Zuo Xiuyun and her brother were illegally sentenced to three-and-a-half years and six years in prison, respectively.
Due to the Chinese Communist Party's persecuting of Falun Gong, Mr. Zuo and his sister were each forced to divorce their spouses, and two families were broken apart.
