(Minghui.org) Ms. Dong Guohong from Lanzhou City has been detained in the First Detention Center in Jiuzhou since February 2014. During the past six months an officer at the Chengguan District Domestic Security Division has twice asked the prosecutors to indict her, and presented trumped-up charges, but failed. The officials have nonetheless refused to release her.
Arrested for Practicing Falun Dafa
Ms. Dong, 46, was subjected to a security check at the Lanzhou Train Station. The railroad police officer confiscated from her bag a photo of the founder of Falun Dafa, a copy of Zhuan Falun, the main book of the practice, and some cash.
Ms. Dong was arrested for her belief in Falun Dafa, and the officer informed the Chengguan District Domestic Security Division. Chen Zhikai, captain of the Domestic Security Division, took her to the First Detention Center in Jiuzhou.
Demanding Prosecution of Innocent Practitioner
Since Ms. Dong was arrested in February, Chen Zhikai has twice submitted written statements to the Chengguan District Procuratorate, recommending that she be prosecuted. The prosecutor twice arraigned Ms. Dong, and twice dismissed the case due to insufficient evidence.
Chen continued his attempts to have her taken to court, and refused to release her. She was mistreated, and her rights violated while being detained.
Her family hired a lawyer to defend her innocence and hold those who violated her rights criminally and legally responsible.
Persecuted Since the Onset of the Persecution
Ms. Dong has been persecuted since the onset of the persecution in 1999. She went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa, and the police detained her for 15 days in 2000. She was sentenced to one year at Ping'antai Forced Labor Camp in November 2000, where she was tortured.
The police arrested her again on October 10, 2002, and took her to the Gaolanshan Brainwashing Center. She was later transferred to the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center.
Ms. Dong was arrested again in 2006, and detained in the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center. The officials at Gongjiawan transferred her to the Heping Women's Forced Labor Camp in Yuzhong County, where she was tortured for a year. Still, she refused to renounce her faith and was transferred back to Gongjiawan for more brainwashing in November 2007.
