(Minghui.org) Three Falun Gong practitioners are held at the Shengzhuang Detention Center in Tai'an following their illegal arrest on the evening of July 25, 2014.
The three practitioners, Ms. Duan Yuanling, Ms. Liu Erni and her husband Mi Zhaohua, were arrested while distributing information about the persecution of Falun Gong in Huamawan Township, near their home city of Laiwu, Shandong Province. The officers involved were from the domestic security division of the Yuedai District Police Department in Tai'an.
Four plainclothes officers from the Daiyue District and one from Laicheng District broke into Ms. Liu Erni's home on the morning of July 28, 2013. They confiscated a large bag of Falun Gong flyers.
The police broke into Ms. Duan's home in the afternoon. They confiscated copies of Minghui Weekly, two or three boxes of blank DVDs, a USB player, MP3 player, the hard disk of the computer, cell phone, a box of staples, and a copy of Ms. Duan's identification card. The officers claimed that items were evidence for a criminal investigation.
Ms. Duan and Ms. Liu's families went to the Tai'an Domestic Security Division on July 31, 2014 and asked that the practitioners be released. Their families told them that the detained practitioners had children at home in need of care. They tried to reason with the officers, explaining that Falun Gong is a peaceful practice and that the arrested practitioners did not commit any crimes. However, the officers paid no heed to their appeals, and angrily badmouthed Falun Gong.
