(Mingui.org) Through nearly three years of efforts, more than 800 members of a cycling club that I'm involved with have learned the facts about Falun Gong. Some said, “After quitting the Party, I felt really free.” Some said, “After over ten years of persecution, Falun Gong still stands firm. That shows that Falun Gong practitioners are all great people!”
I live in a city close to the east side of Taihang Mountain. There are quite a few cycling clubs in this small city, and the one I belong to has over 800 members. Every time we cycle, I tell them something that can't be heard on television or China's Internet. They are all eager to listen, but know little about Falun Gong.
Talking about Bo Xilai and Other Villains
One time, 21 of us were cycling to Yuhuangding, a temple on Taihang Mountain. Before lunch we began talking about Wang Lijun's defection and Bo Xilai's ruin. I took the opportunity to explain why Wang Lijun defected, why the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had to hide Bo Xilai's crimes, including that he was actively collaborating with Zhou Yongkang.
I also explained to them why overseas practitioners had sued Jiang Zemin, Zeng Qinghong, Zhou Yongkang, Luo Gan, Bo Xilai, and other primary culprits in the persecution of Falun Gong. I spoke of the individuals' crimes, which included torture, genocide, and crimes against humanity. I told them it is certain that the CCP will be destroyed by Heaven and that all the efforts to maintain the Party are for naught.
Everyone was eager to listen to what I had to say and even wanted me to continue while they ate. I then spoke of the facts behind the Tiananmen Square self-immolation that was staged by the CCP, the rumors that practitioners had surrounded and “attacked” Zhongnanhai, and other things. They all understood what Falun Gong was about and the reasons for the unprecedented persecution of the practice.
Teenager: “Now I Have Achieved Real Freedom”
We cycled again on a Saturday morning in the winter of 2013. I noticed a teenage boy behind me, so I slowed down and rode beside him. He told me he was in junior high. I asked him, “Do you know about Falun Gong? Do you know anything about the so-called self-immolation on Tiananmen Square?” He said that he had read about it in his textbook. I said, “Do you know that what you've read are a lies?” He was surprised.
I talked to him about Falun Gong. When I mentioned quitting the CCP and its affiliates, he told me he had joined the Youth League and the Young Pioneers. He then said that his sister and her husband were in New Zealand, and he was going there to study after the Chinese New Year. He also said they had told him that the CCP was very wicked.
I said to him, “You are going to a free country soon. Let me give you an alias to use to quit the CCP on the website. I suggest for your alias Pan Freedom. Pan sounds like 'longing for' in Chinese, so your alias means 'longing for freedom.'” He loved that alias and said, “Now I feel I have achieved real freedom!”
I said, “You are going to the free world soon, but most of your classmates are still being poisoned by the CCP. Isn't it dreadful?” He responded without hesitation, “I will tell them, and they will tell their friends. This news will spread quickly!”
“Practitioners Are Superior People”
We cycled in a nearby county last winter. I was assigned to cycle at the end of the entire group. A man in his 50s slowed down, so I slowed down, too, and asked him his name. I then asked him if he had withdrawn from the Party. He responded, “I just joined the Party two or three years ago. I had wanted to join after I began to work, they wouldn't have me. Then, when I was about to retire, they came and asked me to join! I have to pay dues every year.”
I told him that the CCP was a typical cult organization, that it has a doctrine and a leader, and that it brainwashes and mentally controls its members. Not only that, it tortures and kills people, and makes people hate and hurt each other through its repeated political campaigns. Its officials are all engaged in corruption and all kinds of evil doings. The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party has explained the Party's true nature. The number of the Chinese people around the world who have quit the Party and its affiliated organizations has exceeded 150 million.
I emphasized, “For your own and your family's future, let me suggest an alias for you, which can be 'Miao Qing,' and announce your withdrawal for you on Internet.” Alas, his daughter's name was Miao Qing, and the second name I suggested belonged to his nephew. I said, “Your family members have taken all the good names. What about Miao Xiangyang?” He responded, “That is a great name! Please use that name to quit for me.”
He then said, “It seems that you are very informed. Falun Gong still stands firmly after over ten years of persecution. That shows that they are superior people!” My eyes filled with tears and I said, “I am not superior. It is the founder of Falun Gong who asks me to save people.”
Being Blunt about Quitting the CCP
Whenever I meet people in their 50s or 60s, I ask without any preamble, “Have you quit the Party?” Several fellow club members quit with this direct approach.
Nevertheless, it is not that easy to talk about Falun Gong. Some people believe what you say and agree to quit after hearing a brief explanation, while others refuse to believe you no matter how much you say. They also have a lot of questions. In such circumstances I always remind myself repeatedly, “Be patient. Keep a cool head. Don't fear their questions, but answer them wisely. It is your mission to save people, and this is testing your basic ability to save people.”
Convincing a Discharged Soldier
I once dealt with a discharged soldier, who used be a leader in a governmental organization. He had a hard time listening to the facts about the practice. He started out listening quietly, but when I stopped he gave me a tongue-lashing: “Don't rave about your Master so much. He was only a discharged soldier! And he is also a regular person.” I was irritated by his disrespect, but soon calmed down. I said, “Yes, aren't you also a discharged soldier? There are tens of millions of discharged soldiers like you in China. And many of them are of high military rank, official ranks, or have a high educational background.” He agreed.
Then I said, “However, among those tens of millions of discharged soldiers, who could, as our Master [the founder of Falun Gong] did, spread Falun Gong all around China and the entire world within a few years? Who could lead the over 100 million disciples to stand firm despite over ten years of persecution? Not only that, the book Zhuan Falun, written by our Master, has been translated into over 30 languages. Our Master is respected by people the world over and has won over 1,000 awards from governments and politicians in many countries. He has been nominated four times for the Nobel Peace Prize.
“Falun Gong advocates Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Practitioners come from all different backgrounds. Who of you discharged soldiers or soldiers on active duty could have done that?
“I just want you to know the truth, to set you free from the CCP's mental control. Nothing is for my own benefit. We are all in our 50s and 60. How many political movements have we lived through? The CCP is so evil that it can depose its national vice chairman, like Liu Shaoqi, overnight, and can slaughter on Tiananmen Square so many students and then claim that no one had died. And who else would stage something like the self-immolation on Tiananmen Square to defame Falun Gong?”
I said bluntly, “You have been fooled by this regime so many times. Why do you choose to be fooled again and again?”
After a short pause I said, “When Sakyamuni, Jesus, and Lao Zi came to teach people, they also appeared as an ordinary persons. How could you disrespect the Master of Falun Gong like that?”
It seemed that he was touched. He nodded repeatedly and said, “I am no match when it comes to your Master. Neither are any other discharged or active soldiers. Falun Gong is so powerful!”
I continued talking about Falun Gong, and he finally quit the CCP!
Open about Being a Practitioner
I wanted to buy a mountain bike in 2011, and I met a fellow cycling club member in front of the bike store. He spoke in a loud voice, “Are you still practicing Falun Gong?” I was well-known in my locality for my steadfastness in practicing Falun Gong. I answered also in a loud voice, “Yes! I am still practicing. Why not? Especially, since I am retired, I should practice harder!”
Many people gathered around us when they heard the words "Falun Gong." His acquaintance said, “You can practice, but you should not oppose the government.” I responded, “No, Falun Gong doesn't oppose the government. It is Jiang Zemin and his clique who have been persecuting Falun Gong! What Falun Gong does is to tell people the truth and appeal for an end to the persecution. You have only heard lies.” He wanted to say more, but his acquaintance stopped him. Considering that it was difficult for him to listen to the facts about the practice, I didn't say anything more.
I met him again at a cycling activity. I greeted him politely. He shouted, “Why do you take the Party's money but oppose the Party?” I said calmly, “You are wrong again. I deserve my pension, because I worked hard throughout my life, and that is my retirement benefit. Besides, I also pay taxes to the Party. Everyone pays taxes in China, otherwise what does the Party live on? The high officials of the CCP don't work hard like us, but they get high salaries. They are corrupt and squander our taxes. It is us who feeds them!
“In many free Western countries, they don't have the Communist Party. Their workers earn higher salaries and benefits, because their governments don't exploit them as the CCP does us! Please think about it carefully. We have been exploited by the CCP our entire lives. We are now retired but still believe that it is the CCP that feeds us. How sad!”
The other members all gathered around and listened. Many responded approvingly. Some said, “Yes, you are right! The CCP is so corrupt!” Others said, “The CCP used to say that they would build a society free of suppression and exploitation, but now they are the biggest exploiters!”
The one who was arguing with me was embarrassed. I wanted to find a way to turn the situation around, but he suddenly waved his hand and said, "Falun Gong can't bring change!" Then he rushed into the restaurant and ate.
I thought I would find a way to talk to him again. However, I never saw him after that, which I regret deeply.
610 Office Employee Awakens to the Truth
I went out to distribute Falun Gong materials during the summer of 2010 in a nearby county. On my way home, I met a fellow club member. He was very talkative and told me that he was working in the 610 Office in our city. He was active in persecuting practitioners. He was involved in ransacking practitioners homes, confiscating their property, and arresting, fining, and brainwashing them.
He had worked hard, and the city Party secretary praised him. The secretary also promised to promote him. However, years passed and he was about to retire, yet that promise never came true. That day he was on his way to the municipal government to ask for his rank!
He thought I looked like a governmental official, then asked where I worked. I told him who I was and about my job in the government before I retired. He immediately showed his respect, so I took the chance to explain the basic information about Falun Gong.
When I talked about the staged self-immolation on Tiananmen Square and analyzed it for him, he was amazed and said, “Please never tell this to those Falun Gong practitioners.” I said, “They don't need to be told! They have already seen through the scheme and reported it to the United Nations. Many governments and human rights organizations worldwide know that it was the CCP that staged everything to defame Falun Gong.” He murmured, as if just awakening from a nightmare, “I was deluded again! What should I do now?”
I advised him, "First of all, stop participating in the persecution! Then announce your withdrawal from the CCP. After that, try to collect proof of the persecution and right your wrongs with your contribution.”
As of today, more than 800 fellow members in my cycling club have listened to the facts, and more than 100 have announced their withdrawals from the CCP. I will continue talking to people about Falun Gong and the unprecedented persecution until the day it ends, and the CCP and its minions, including the person that started the persecution, have all been brought to justice!
