(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Aihua, a Falun Gong practitioner, has been held for more than two months at the Youyang Detention Center in Youyang Tujia and Miao Minority Autonomous County. When Ms. Wang Aihua's husband and attorney went to the Youyang Detention Center on August 13 to see her, they were harassed and denied visitation. The lawyer has filed a complaint at the Procuratorate against the Domestic Security Division.
Ms. Wang's husband and lawyer were given the runaround when they tried to see her. First, the detention center demanded that they get permission from the Domestic Security Division at the police department before they would be allowed to see Ms. Wang.
When the attorney went to the Domestic Security Division he was told that the person responsible, Yuan Lin, wasn't there. When Yuan returned, she harassed the attorney and refused to let him meet with his client.
Denying Ms. Wang access to legal counsel is in violation of her constitutional rights.
Ms. Wang, Ms. Tian Qimei and Mr. Zhang Xianbi were illegally arrested on June 1 while distributing information about Falun Gong and the persecution in Youyang County. They were taken to the Taohuayuan Police Station in Youyang County, where they are being held with other practitioners from Chongqing.
Police officers broke into Ms. Wang's apartment in Daxing Village, Jiangbei on the morning of June 9 and confiscated her computer, printer, Falun Gong books, truth-clarification materials and other personal items.
Ms. Tian's family only received notification of criminal detention on June 19, 18 days after her arrest, from the Youyang Police Department. The document was signed on June 15.
