(Minghui.org) Toronto's unique tourist sites attract a large number of Chinese tourists, and provide opportunities for practitioners to explain the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) brutal persecution of Falun Gong. Through clarifying the facts practitioners can help the tourists see the CCP clearly for what it is and encourage them to disassociate themselves from the evil Party for their own safety.
In recent years, the number of practitioners from Mainland China who have come abroad to live has been increasing. If veteran practitioners overseas can set an example of how to approach Chinese people outside of China effectively, and help them quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations, these newly-arrived practitioners can quickly get familiar with clarifying the truth in their new environment.
It will also build up their confidence, help them to overcome notions of thinking that they are not capable, and encourage them to participate in local efforts to help Chinese people at tourist sites to renounce the Party.
Ms. Wang, a veteran practitioner, volunteers at the Service Center for Quitting the CCP in Toronto's Chinatown.
She saw that two Chinese practitioners who recently arrived in Canada handed out informational materials, but did not talk to the people passing by. She saw they missed opportunities to help Chinese people renounce the CCP.
Ms. Wang was standing across from one of the practitioners. Looking at the people passing by, she greeted them and talked to those who stopped to listen to her. In just over an hour, she helped more than a dozen people quit the CCP and its affiliates. Many of the people who quit seemed happy, and expressed their gratitude.
The newly arrived practitioner witnessed this and said, "People hurry past me. I thought there was no way for me to talk to them." Inspired by Ms. Wang, this practitioner gained confidence. She said she felt she could also engage the passersby. The practitioner said she would go to a tourist site to help more Chinese people learn the facts and quit the CCP.
On the way home, the other newly arrived practitioner and Ms. Wang walked in the same direction. She was able to watch as Ms. Wang helped two Chinese men they encountered on the street to quit the CCP.
One man (in his 30s) readily quit the Youth League. The other man (in his 50s) seemed to have just come from China. As soon as he heard Ms. Wang speak about quitting the CCP, he became impatient and said, "Don't talk to me about this, I'm not interested."
Ms. Wang was calm and said, "I see you're a good person. I want to tell you something about how good people live safely. I only wish the best for you." The man calmed down and slowed his pace. He listened to Ms. Wang and finally understood. He renounced his CCP membership.
The man then crossed the road and continued walking. A short while later, he came back to shake hands with Ms. Wang and to express his gratitude.
The newly-arrived practitioner saw it was not so difficult to talk to people and help them quit the CCP. She told Ms. Wang, "It's so simple, I think I can do it, too." The practitioner said she had initially lacked confidence and felt anxious. When she later tried to help people quit the CCP, she gradually improved.
Ms. Wang's help strengthened this practitioner's confidence. Later they both went to a tourist site to help more Chinese tourists to renounce the Party.
