(Minghui.org) I am reporting an incident that happened to me back in March 2005. I flew from Singapore to China to meet my then girlfriend, who is now my wife, in front of the farmer's market in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province. I had planned to marry her on this trip.
Shortly after our meeting while I was walking alone, eight plainclothes agents from the Wuxi State Security Bureau suddenly jumped out of an unmarked van, grabbed me, and shoved me into the backseat.
They drove me to an unknown location, where they searched me. After confiscating my belongings, they forced me to renounce my belief in Falun Gong.
They also required that I provide them with personal information on Singapore practitioners after I returned home.
Out of fear of being persecuted and the wish to return to Singapore as soon as possible, I agreed to do their bidding. Three days later, they released me.
I knew I was wrong to agree to quit practicing Falun Gong and to spy for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), even though I didn't put it in writing. I never provided them any information on Falun Gong practitioners, before or after I returned to Singapore.
