(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 21 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 17 practitioners were illegally arrested.

Ms. Kong Qingmei and another practitioner were arrested on June 11, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Kong was taken to a psychiatric hospital.
2. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners Put on Trial
Mr. Zhang Haiyang, Mr. Dong Hanjie, Ms. Gao Chunlian, and Ms. Wang Yunfei were tried in Zhuozhou City Court on July 31, 2014.
3. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Ms. Chi Xiuying Arrested
Ms. Chi Xiuying was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center on July 19, 2014.
4. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Yuqiong Detained
Ms. Yang Yuqiong was arrested by plainclothes officers and taken to the Chuangxin Police Station on the morning of July 24, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was later transferred to the No. 3 Detention Center and is being held for 15 days.
5. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Two Practitioners Arrested
Captain Yang Yugang and officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Zhuozhou City Police Department arrested Ms. Liu Jie and her teenage son on July 20, 2014. They confiscated a computer, a printer, and 37 Falun Gong books.
Ms. Liu has been released due to high blood pressure, but her son is still being held at the Zhuozhou City Detention Center.
6. [Penglai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yongcui Arrested
Ms. Zhang Yongcui was arrested by officer Liu on July 22, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police also ransacked her home. She was released after having 3,000 yuan extorted from her.

7. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Li Dayuan Tortured
Mr. Li Dayuan, 69, is being held at the No. 7 Ward of the Jiazhou Prison. He is forced to do slave labor every day even though the prison has a policy that detainees over 65 shouldn't be made to do forced labor.
Mr. Li has to work until he finishes his quota. There are no breaks. He now has pain in his back and legs, and his vision has deteriorated.
8. [Yitong County, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Jinbo Mentally Disordered
Mr. Wang Jinbo has been kept in solitary confinement and deprived of family visits since May 14, 2014. His family members have asked to visit him many times, but guard Wang Yuanchun has refused to allow them to see him, telling them that he has become mentally disordered (due to being tortured).

9. [Xinjin County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Lin Jiuliang Arrested
Mr. Lin Jiuliang, 50, was arrested and taken to the Dongchang Police Station on July 14, 2014, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. The police ransacked his home that evening and confiscated two Falun Gong books and several amulets. They also videotaped his home.
10. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Fengrao's Whereabouts Unknown
Mr. Wang Fengrao, 67, was sentenced to two years of forced labor and three years in prison.
Several community officers broke into his home on the morning of July 15, 2014, tried to arrest him, and confiscated his Dafa books. Mr. Wang had to leave home to avoid further persecution and arrests, and his current whereabouts is unknown.
11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Chunmei Detained
Ms. Li Chunmei was arrested at home and taken to the Guilinjie Police Station by seven officers from the Zhongshan Police Department on the morning of July 21, 2014. The police confiscated several cell phones and tablet PCs. She was later transferred to the Dalian City Detention Center.
12. [Tianjin] Two Practitioners Detained
Mr. Kang Jingshu and another practitioner named Fan were arrested on the morning of July 24, 2014, for distributing informational materials and talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are being held in the Wanxin Police Station.
13. [Chongqing] Ms. Guo Yunqing Arrested
Ms. Guo Yunqing, in her 60s, was arrested by officers from the Luoqi Police Station on the morning of July 23, 2014, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. Her whereabouts is unknown. The police ransacked her home that afternoon and confiscated Falun Gong books and other personal items. Her 90-year-old mother was left alone at home with no one to take care of her.

14. [Jingshan County, Hubei Province] Two Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Wang Huafeng and Ms. Hu Cuilan were arrested by officers from the Xinshi Police Station on the morning of July 22, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were then taken to the Jingshan No. 2 Detention Center. Ms. Wang was released the next day, but Ms. Hu is still being held.
Ms. Wang's home was also ransacked.

15. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Miao Xiaokun Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
Mr. Miao Xiaokun was arrested by officers Bai Ning and Li Meishan on July 7, 2014. He was sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Guta Court authorities, and is currently being held at the Jinzhou City Detention Center.
The police dragged him by his legs all the way from the police car to the ward of the detention center. Mr. Miao passed out.

Mr. Guo Qinglin was arrested on July 22, 2014, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. His home was later ransacked.
17. [Longhua County, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Baojun Detained
Ms. Sun Baojun was arrested at home by eight officers, including director Chen Guangxue from the Zhangjiying Police Station, on May 16, 2014. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, truth clarification materials, a satellite receiver, a DVD player, a cell phone, and other personal items. She was held for 15 days.
Ms. Sun was arrested for the first time at home on June 24, 2008. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Dafa books, informational materials, a satellite receiver, and 200 yuan (all of the money she had saved for her living expenses). She was held for 15 days.

Ms. Liu Xiaoya was arrested by officers from the Xita Police Station in Heping District on July 17, 2014. She is being held at the Shenyang City No. 1 Detention Center.

Ms. Ni Youai was arrested at home on July 24, 2014.
20. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Two Practitioners Detained
Mr. Zhang Guangcai and Mr. Xiao Shuyuan were arrested by plainclothes officers on the morning on July 19, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were taken to the Jianghan District Detention Center and held for 15 days.
21. [Qingyun County, Shandong Province] Mr. Yu Jundang's Whereabouts Unknown
Mr. Yu Jundang was arrested at home on July 23, 2014, and his whereabouts is still unknown.
22. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
Mr. Zhao Yongcai from Shangying Town was arrested on July 4, 2014. His cell phones and personal items were also confiscated. He was later transferred to the Nanshan Detention Center. The police intend to put him on trial.
Ms. Wang Hongfang from Qidi Village in Kaiyuan Town was arrested on the evening of July 21, 2014. The police confiscated all three of her family's cell phones. Her whereabouts is unknown.
A dozen officers from the Shulan City 610 Office broke into Mr. Wang Wentian's home on the morning of July 22, 2014. They tore down his paintings and couplets and took pictures of and videotaped his home.
Mr. Xu Wenguo from Pingan Town was arrested on the morning of July 24, 2014.
Mr. Li Shengcheng from Lianhua Town was arrested on April 21, 2014.
Mr. Tian Yingliang and Ms. Zhao Qingfen were arrested on June 16, 2014.
All of the practitioners are still detained.

24. [Tianjin] Two Practitioners Sentenced
Ms. Jia Mantao and Ms. Zhou Hongli were tried for the third time by the Hexi District Court on July 10, 2014. Ms. Jia was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison, and Ms. Zhou to three years on July 17, 2014.
