Aug. 5, 2014 |   By a Minghui Correspondent from Liaoning Province, China

(Minghui.org) Seven days after Ms. Xing Dan's illegal arrest, her husband and other family members went to the local police station to request her release. As a result, they were detained, and her husband has been tortured on the tiger bench.

Ms. Xing, from Anshan City, Liaoning Province, was at home when officers from the Duilu Police Station arrested her on July 21, 2014. The police confiscated two computers and three printers. Ms. Xing is now being held in the Anshan City Women's Detention Center.

A few days before her arrest, someone claiming to be from the local residential committee called her mother-in-law to ask about her.

Family Members Arrested and Persecuted

Ms. Xing's husband, her parents, her parents-in-law, and a relative, Ms. Li Yajun, went to the Duilu Police Station on July 28 to request her release.

Her mother-in-law told the police why they were there and that Ms. Xing was a good person. Shortly afterward, many police officers showed up and surrounded them. One officer handcuffed Ms. Xing's husband, took off his belt and tied him on a tiger bench.

Ms. Xing's parents, over 70 years old, were released four hours later. Her husband and Ms. Li Yajun are still being held at the police station. Ms. Li's home was also ransacked.
