(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Tianwei from Daqing City went to visit practitioner Mr. Zhao Chengxiao on the afternoon of August 5, 2013. Police were ransacking Mr. Zhao's home as he arrived and Mr. Zhang was arrested on the spot.
Authorities assured his family that he would be released in ten days. Instead, police transferred him to the Third Detention Center in Dulitun and threatened him with prison.
Mr. Zhang, 49, visited Mr. Zhao around 4 p.m. on August 5. Officers from the Chengfeng Police Department in Ranghulu District and the Daqing City Domestic Security Division were illegally searching Mr. Zhao's apartment and had just arrested Mr. Zhao's wife Ms. Gao Xiulan near their home. Mr. Zhao and Mr. Zhang were also arrested. The officers took all three practitioners to the Chengfeng Police Department.
At about 7 p.m. that day, four police officers forced Mr. Zhang to go to his home and they ransacked his residence. Finding no incriminating evidence, they still kept Mr. Zhang in custody.
At 10 p.m. eight police officers brought Mr. Zhang, Ms. Gao, and Mr. Zhao to Longnan Hospital in Daqing for a physical. The police later put Mr. Zhang in Dulitun Detention Center in the Ranghulu District.
Mr. Zhang's family had no idea that he was arrested. He did not come home for dinner and did not answer several phone calls. Family members finally asked around and learned that he had been arrested.
They went to the Chengfeng Police Department wanting to see Mr. Zhang. An officer gave them a detention warrant, which did not give the name of the officer in charge as required by law. The officer told the family that Mr. Zhang would be released in ten days.
However, when ten days were up, he was instead transferred to the Third Detention Center in Dulitun under criminal detention. The police informed Mr. Zhang's family that they were collecting evidence against Mr. Zhang and would put him in prison.
Mr. Zhang suffered from arthritis and stomach problems before he was a practitioner. Nothing improved his condition. After he started practicing Falun Dafa, all his ailments disappeared.
Because he believed in the teachings of Falun Dafa, he became a hard-working and honest person. He liked to help others and was well respected.
