(Minghui.org) Following an unsuccessful attempt to arrest Ms. Wen Huilian in April 2014, officials from the Wuhan 610 Office and the Political and Legal Affairs Committee ordered officers to tap the phones of her family members, and constantly threatened them to disclose Ms. Wen's whereabouts.
Attempted Arrest
Deputy director of the Heping Police Station Yu Zhaofei and over ten officers from the police station and the Wuhan Domestic Security Division forced their way into Ms. Wen's home at around 8:30 a.m. on April 24, 2014. However, she was not at home. They confiscated many of her personal belongings and stayed there until approximately 4 p.m..
Family Harassed
Ms. Wen did not return home for fear of being arrested, and had no choice but to move from place to place to avoid the police.
In an attempt to find her whereabouts, Ms. Wen's family members were threatened and had their phones tapped.
Yu Zhaofei and three other officers barged into Ms. Wen's home on July 22, 2014. They threatened her daughter-in-law, granddaughter and son, and tried to coerce them into disclosing Ms. Wen's whereabouts.
Six officers in a police van went to the Hanyang District and broke into the homes of Ms. Wen's brother's and younger sister on around July 25. They threatened them in an attempt to find out Ms. Wen's whereabouts. Ms. Wen's niece called the police because she could not stand the harassment.
