(Minghui.org) I'd like to share how I overcame feeling sleepy and tired.
I realized through studying the Fa that the attachment to sleep is formed after birth. It is an everyday person's attachment, not something to which practitioners should be attached, so I decided to get rid of it.
I had been using everyday people's methods to overcome the attachment. I tried very hard not to fall asleep when I felt sleepy. However, sometimes I fell asleep immediately after I lay down. Sometimes I would tell myself that I would not be able to do the three things well if I did not get enough sleep. I knew the state I was in did not meet the Fa's requirements; however, I could not get rid of the attachment.
I realized I should not be like this anymore, so I decided to solve the problem.
First, I got up 3:40 a.m. and did the exercises. I did all five exercises without stopping. I got into the habit of getting up early and finishing the exercises every day. In addition, I increased the time and frequency of sending forth righteous thoughts, and I studied the Fa more.
After a while, I felt stronger and had more energy.
When I sent forth righteous thoughts, I felt the energy field becoming stronger and stronger. Sometimes, as soon as my hands were in the jieyin position, I could feel the energy rotate between my arms. When I put up my hand, the energy pulled me up, and my palm and back both straightened up. My body was filled with energy. As I sent righteous thoughts, I felt surrounded by this energy stream. Even in the summer, I did not feel hot at all.
Whenever I sent forth righteous thoughts before, my palm and back were not straight. Now my posture was correct.
Master explained the importance of sending forth righteous thoughts to us. I realized that sending forth righteous thoughts could not only eliminate outside interference and persecution, but it could also eliminate our own attachments. I sent forth righteous thoughts when I realized I had attachments. For example, when I felt sleepy, I sent forth righteous thoughts and I immediately felt energized. I realized Master was adjusting my body and strengthening me.
I sent forth righteous thoughts whenever I felt sleepy. I then noticed I'd start to feel uncomfortable if I slept too much.
I was so happy to overcome my attachment to sleep. Afterward, I only slept three-and-half-hours every day. During the process, I felt all the interference was eliminated. I could feel my body being purified, and the more I sent forth righteous thoughts, the stronger my righteous thoughts became.
However, I soon got very busy, and I did not send forth righteous thoughts as frequently. I moved to another city, and my life changed a lot. For several days, I did not get up early to do the exercises.
The more I slept, the more I wanted to sleep. Sometimes I slept the entire morning and then slept in the afternoon. I begged Master to wake me up to do the morning exercises. After Master woke me up the next day, I resumed my schedule of doing the morning exercises, and I was again filled with energy.
I participated in several projects and also went to tourist locations to clarify the truth. One day, I came home in the afternoon and thought about going to bed at 9 o'clock since it had been a tiring day. I soon realized that notion was incorrect, so I started to send forth righteous thoughts.
I found that we still need to let go of many attachments when we understand some principles. As long as we consider things from the perspective of the Fa and we can identify our problems and cultivate ourselves, Master will help us improve. Master always gives us the best as long as we are strict with ourselves.
I also found that many attachments result from not doing the three things well. As long as we are sincere about doing the three things, we will be rectified in the Fa.
