(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According to this report, 28 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 9 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Practitioners Illegally Sentenced to Prison in 2014

Mr. Li Shengcheng was arrested in April 2014, and sentenced to nine years in prison. He was taken to a prison in a different city in December 2014.

Mr. Zhao Yongcai was arrested on April 7, 2014. He was tried on November 6, and sentenced to five years in prison.

Mr. Wang Hongfang was sentenced to four years.

Mr. Han Fu was arrested on September 9, 2014. He was sentenced to three years.

2. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Yan, Ms. Yuan Yiqiong, Ms. Yang Li, and Ms. Yang Huilan were arrested on January 8, 2014. Ms. Yang Huilan was released two days later. The other three practitioners remain in custody at the Hongta District Detention Center.

3. [Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Hu Nanling Unable to Walk after Hunger Strike

Ms. Hu Nanling was tried on December 30, 2014, at the Jinyun County Court. She has been on a hunger strike to protest the persecution since her arrest on December 3, 2014. She is now unable to walk. She was pushed and dragged out of the courtroom by two bailiffs when the trial was adjourned.

4. [Wuhan City, Hunan Province] Mr. Wang Jun Missing for Ten Years

Mr. Wang Jun was employed at the Hankou Gas Company. He went out in 2004 and has not been seen or heard from since. He was 36 years old at the time.

5. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Chen Dongping's Home Ransacked

Mr. Chen Dongping's home was ransacked on December 22, 2014. He was taken away by the police for interrogation, and released two hours later.

6. [Beijing] Mr. Han Chunbo Faces Trial

Mr. Han Chunbo is due to be tried on January 14, 2015, in the Changping Court.

7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Gangli and Nine Other Practitioners Face Trial

The Shenhe District Court planned to try Mr. Liu Gangli on January 16, 2015. They also plan to put nine other practitioners on trial soon, including Mr. Cong Ming, Ms. Guo Hongyan, Ms. Zong Yanchun, Mr. Yu Ming, Mr. Li Dongxu, Ms. Gao Jingqun, Mr. Tian Jinxin, Ms. Han Jing, and Mr. Liu Yuhan.

8. [Yanshi City, Henan Province] Mr. Sun Yaoting and Mr. Zhang Jiancheng Remain in Custody

Mr. Sun Yaoting and Mr. Zhang Jiancheng were arrested on July 20, 2014, and are being held in the Yanshi City Detention Center.

9. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Zhang Chunmin Faces Trial

Mr. Zhang Chunmin is due to be tried by the Nanming District Court on January 21, 2015.

10. [Chongqing] Mr. Ren Xianglian Detained

Mr. Ren Xianglian, from the Yubei District, was arrested on January 6, 2015, by officers from the Lianglu Police Station, for distributing Falun Gong materials. The officers searched his home and took Falun Gong books, DVDs, and copies of Minghui Weekly. He is being held in the Yiwanshui Detention Center.

11. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Shao Lianying and Two Other Practitioners' Homes Ransacked

Wan Huiya and six other officers from the Huanggang City Domestic Security Division broke into Ms. Shao Lianying's home on December 30, 2014. They ransacked the place and took materials about Falun Gong, along with several copies of the book Zhuan Falun.

The officers then broke into Ms. Wang's home to conduct a search. They took a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong, a copy of Zhuan Falun and other Falun Gong books, and informational materials about Falun Gong. The officers then went to Mr. Wang Jiansheng's home and ransacked it. They took Falun Gong materials and three cell phones.

12. [Jianli County, Hubei Province] Ms. Fu Xingmei Arrested and Beaten

Ms. Fu Xingmei was arrested in Zishi Town, Jiangling County, Hubei Province, by officers from the Zishi Town Police Station while she was distributing Falun Gong materials on January 8, 2015. The officers handcuffed and shackled her. They punched her in the eyes, which ended up badly bruised and blackened, and her eyeballs turned red.

13. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Jimei Faces Trial

Ms. Zhang Jimei was arrested by officers from the Duozhuang Police Station on October 16, 2014. She has been held in a detention center. It was reported that Ms. Zhang would be tried on January 12, 2015.

14. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Face Trial

The Yangming District Court scheduled a trial for Mr. Zhang Yuliang, Ms. Jiang Yuemei, and Ms. Jin Fengying for the morning of January 13, 2015.

15. [Zhongwei City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Three Practitioners Detained

Mr. Pan Yongquan and his wife, Ms. Jing Yuling, were recorded by surveillance video cameras while distributing Falun Gong informational materials. Mr. Pan was arrested at his workplace. His wife was also arrested shortly afterward. The police ransacked their home. When Ms. Wang Zijuan went there to deliver materials, she was also arrested.

Mr. Pan and Ms. Jing are being held in the Zhongwei City Lockup. Ms. Wang was taken to the Zhongwei City Detention Center.

16. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhang Qingrong Detained

Ms. Zhang Qingrong was arrested on December 23, 2014. She is being held in the Changqiao Detention Center.

17. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lu Jun and Mr. Jin Biao Sentenced to Prison

It was recently learned that Ms. Lu Jun and Mr. Jin Biao, from Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province, were both sentenced to three-year terms. Ms. Lu is appealing the verdict at Dandong Detention Center, while Mr. Jin has been transferred to a prison in Shenyang Prison Compound. The specific ward and prison information is unknown.
