A Bus Attendant's Cultivation Experiences

Jan. 24, 2015 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) I am a bus attendant and sell tickets on a bus route. Before this job, I was not used to speaking up. However, a bus attendant must speak loud enough to be heard when calling the names of the stops.

This part of the job was a challenge for me, and at the beginning I lost my voice for a few days.

Viewing Work As a Practitioner

I thought that, as a Falun Dafa practitioner, I should do well no matter what my job. Master has arranged for me to do this job, so I should do it well. My belief in Dafa and Master gave me the determination to do it well. Sometimes I still lost my voice, however, or my throat would hurt and become swollen. I still stuck it out.

I sometimes felt I was not confident enough. However, I restored my confidence through studying the Fa. My voice gradually got louder and louder. Several of my colleagues' throats were injured from having to raise their voices, but mine became more and more sonorous.

At Work

One day, the substitute driver was a fellow practitioner. From the starting station, he used his cell phone to play audio programs on divinely inspired culture such as the Story on Six Inch Lane and Queen Xianren of the Song Dynasty's Story on Vows. The programs lasted about 20 minutes.

I was afraid at first, since the crowd on each bus had different and complex backgrounds. Then I thought: They boarded this bus—it was predestined, wasn't it?

I started to send righteous thoughts to eliminate all kinds of interference. Some people chatted initially, but they stopped talking after a while. Everyone listened quietly to the programs.

I generally give change to the passengers using paper bills with words about Falun Dafa written on them. I send righteous thoughts at the same time, so that people will read the bills and maybe be awakened. I noticed some people would read the words silently and some even read them out loud.

A villager got on the bus and gave me one yuan for a ticket. I took the bill and saw a message about Falun Dafa on it and read it. He realized he had given me a special bill. He said, “Could you give that one back to me? I want to keep it.”

I returned it and he gave me another. Given his reaction to the bill, I told him I had more that I could exchange with him. He was very happy, and we exchanged several.

Courage

One day, I was excited to see a passenger holding a Shen Yun DVD. I knew that another practitioner on the bus must have distributed it. I sent righteous thoughts to help that practitioner. As we neared the last stop, a lady came up to me and said, “I would like to give you a Shen Yun DVD about 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture.”

I took it and said, “Thank you. Please come back on your next trip.” I sensed a large gap between her dedication and mine. She was open and brave, but I had so much fear. I felt ashamed that I did not do more on the bus to help people understand Falun Dafa and the persecution.

I found many shortcomings as I wrote this article. I will take more time to study the Fa and cultivate myself well. I will be worthy of Master's compassionate salvation.

Thank you, Master! Thank you, fellow practitioners!
