(Minghui.org) I am a practitioner who started to practice Falun Dafa in 1997. I would like to share some of my cultivation experiences.
Falun Dafa Changed My Life
I am 63 years old, and have had many health issues since birth. I was near death several days after I was born. My family prepared for my funeral, but was surprised that I survived. I was unable to learn to walk like other children my age. Then, my leg was broken in an accident when I was four-years old, which worsened my physical abilities. At age eight, my dad made me a walker, with which I finally could walk.
Nevertheless, I did not grow, and was just under four feet tall. My body was deformed, my chest bones bulged out, I had a hunchback, and my limbs were not straight. A fortune teller told me and my family that I was guarded by divine beings. I didn't know what that meant.
I got married at 23 and had two daughters, both of whom were delivered by Cesarean section. My children were healthy, but I still suffered from multiple illnesses. I often had terrible headaches that prevented me from doing any housework. Later a tumor developed in my uterus. My stomach turned rock hard and grew to a size that made me look several months pregnant.
Being extremely poor, my family did not have the money for the surgery doctors advised. Thus, my family sold the only land we owned to pay for my surgery, and the tumor that was taken out weighted about 3 pounds 5 ounces.
A relative brought Zhuan Falun, the main book of Falun Dafa, to my home in 1997. This was the turning point of my life. My husband read two pages then passed it on to me and our children and said, “You can start learning Dafa. I will join you after I quit smoking.”
Soon after I practiced Dafa, all my illnesses began to disappear, and I have been healthy since then. I can walk up and down the stairs in my building several times a day.
Dafa Keeps Me Safe in This Unprecedented Persecution
After the persecution of Falun Dafa began in 1999, I took any opportunity to clarify the truth about Dafa to others. Because of my steadfast belief in Dafa, my family and I were monitored around the clock by plainclothes police. This curtailed our ability to leave our home, and they reported anyone who visited us.
My younger daughter and her husband went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Dafa and to stop the persecution in 2002. They were arrested and taken to a forced labor camp, while I looked after their 11-month-old son.
A man, I believe to be from the local 610 Office, came to my home many times to harass me. He threatened to arrest me if I did not give up Dafa. As no one would be available to look after my grandson if I were arrested, they eventually left me alone. I learned that the person who threatened me died of unusual illnesses six months later.
I was arrested for putting up banners and placing sticky notes about the facts of Falun Dafa in public places in 2004. I did not give them any information about fellow practitioners, nor did I give up my belief although they threatened me in the detention center. On the fourth night, seven shining golden divine beings appeared in my dream. They looked at me and smiled. I knew I would be released soon. I was taken home in a police car the next day.
My family and I were protected by Dafa from any serious danger during the past 16 years of the persecution.
Recovery a Miracle
My older daughter's husband was diagnosed with cancer in September 2005, and he had surgery and chemotherapy. My daughter and I told him about the extraordinary power of Dafa and encouraged him to listen to the lecture recordings by the founder of Falun Dafa. The two of us, along with my younger daughter, also sent forth righteous thoughts to support him in fighting the cancer.
Two months later, he went back to the hospital for a check-up. The doctor could not find any trace of cancer, after checking it twice. The doctor also told my son-in-law that five other patients with the same kind of cancer that were admitted to the hospital at the same time had all passed away, and that his recovery was a miracle.
An Elderly Lady Regained Consciousness
A former neighbor who is 75-years-old visited my parents. I also visited her and talked to her and her family about Falun Dafa.
This woman passed out in August 2013. At the hospital, the doctor advised her family that she was near death and discharged her. Her daughter remembered what I told her. So she and her younger brother recited, “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” After a while, the elderly woman regained her consciousness.
The woman has recovered and became a practitioner. She listens to the lectures by the founder of Falun Dafa daily.
