'It is Difficult to Find Someone As Kind As You'

(Minghui.org) In my daily work, I handle disputes and help consumers and business managers reach agreements through mediation.

A 70-year-old man once came to my office seeking help. He told me that his wife saw a commercial on TV about a health product and bought it. She paid 800 yuan and bought the product without consulting him. After she had used half of the product, she started to have bloodshot eyes, her face swelled, and she had high blood pressure.

He called the seller, explained the situation, and asked for the money back. The seller insisted that the product was of good quality and ignored him. The seller now refuses to answer his phone calls.

Since the company involved was not local, this dispute was not exactly in my area of expertise. I could have easily declined this case if I did not want to go through the extra trouble of dealing with a dispute from another region.

But I am a cultivator of Falun Dafa and I follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I only follow what Master Li Hongzhi has taught me and try to always think of others first.

Being an Example of the Fa

I offered the old man a glass of water and comforted him. I called the company and told them that an elderly consumer fell ill after taking their product. I reminded them that they should consider the consequences if they fraudulently inflate their products in their advertisement. I added that more people may encounter similar problems and sue them. I talked to them in a serious yet kind tone. I also tried to edify kindness, to think from their consumers' points of view, and suggested to them to build their credibility and gain trust of their consumers.

After a long conversation, the company agreed to let the couple return the unused portion of the product and to give them a refund.

I helped the old gentleman set up an account in order to receive the payment, and I made phone calls to ensure the company indeed transferred the money to the account.

Three days later, the old man called me and thanked me. He said he received 600 yuan back. He praised me and said I was really a kind and responsible person.

About six months later, the old man came to my office again. He wanted to thank me again and brought me a bag of dried fruits, which his son gave to him. I said it was my duty to dissolve consumer disputes. I did not accept the gift and he kept thanking me.

Making the Most of Every Situation

A young couple came to me because their car was stolen after they parked it at a location specified by a local business. After the case went to court, I patiently explained to them all the procedures and told them what they could and could not do. I provided them with a lot of help during the court procedure.

When they received compensation, they immediately called to invite me for dinner in order to thank me. I rejected politely. I told them I practice Falun Dafa and that helping others is my duty. I also told them to remember "Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” and not to believe the Chinese Communist Party's lies.

There have been many similar cases. I have tried to treat each case carefully and fairly, no matter whether it was a small case or a large one, or whether or not it involved huge amounts of money. My clients vary from individuals to big groups. Sometimes two parties get fired up and argue with each other in my office.

During these times, I try to calm them down and say things to them like, "Out of blows friendship grows." I try to approach their problems with kindness.

Over the years, I have treated people with Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Gradually, my colleagues' misunderstandings toward Falun Dafa cleared up, and they realized that the mindsets of Falun Dafa practitioners are good. By using kindness and compassion to handle disputes at my work, I have gained consumers' trust and respect.

Among the people I have helped, some wanted to call me "sister," and some considered me a trusted elder. Many of them wanted to stay in contact with me and wanted to invite me to their homes.

I often tell my clients that I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. I tell them the wonders of Dafa, and that good will be rewarded with good and evil with retribution. I also tell them to quit the CCP for their own safety and future.

They have said many kind things to me: “You are so different from other people;” “From what you say and do we can feel Falun Dafa must be good; Practitioners should be respected; or, It is difficult to find someone as kind as you!”
