Vancouver, Canada: Delivering New Year's Greetings in Chinatown

Feb. 27, 2015 |   By Minghui correspondent Zhang Ran

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners from Vancouver gathered in Chinatown on February 21, to bring New Year's greetings to the public. Practitioners wished every passerby a Happy New Year, telling each person that they will be blessed by following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Mr. He, who organized the event, said that practitioners have the wish to share the very best – the universal values of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance – with both Chinese and Western people during the holiday season.

Monica Doric, a local teacher, was glad to see the practitioners' New Year's activities. She has a hobby of recording important events in Vancouver through photography, and had her picture taken with the practitioners. She mentioned that this event would be part of the city's history.

Ms. Doric believes that the Chinese culture is an influential part of Vancouver, and that what practitioners have been doing has had a positive impact on the city.

Monica, who learned about Falun Gong from the Internet, said that she is interested in studying this ancient cultivation practice.

Dominic Richard has lived near Chinatown for more than a decade, and has often seen practitioners' activities. He remarked that he would like to learn the Falun Gong exercises for health reasons.
