Zhao Zhengfu Detained During Chinese New Year, Family Denied Visitation

Feb. 27, 2015 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Heilongjiang Province, China

(Minghui.org) While families across China joyously celebrate the New Year, Mr. Zhao Zhengfu is unable to see his family because he is illegally detained.

Two police cars stopped at Mr. Zhao's workplace on the morning of January 13, 2015. Three male and one female plainclothes officers from the Daqing City Police Department and the Longgang Sub-bureau arrested Mr. Zhao and ransacked his home. Mr. Zhao refused to cooperate and was tortured. The police took away his computer and Falun Dafa books. Mr. Zhao was charged with “undermining law enforcement” and was forcibly taken for a physical examination. He is held at the No. 3 Detention Center. The authorities have refused to allow his family to visit him. His case was sent to the Procuratorate.

Mr. Zhao was illegally arrested for mentioning the Chinese Communist Party in articles he sent to one of his relatives, which explained why Falun Gong is being persecuted.

Mr. Zhao is 49 years old, and a truck driver for the No. 3 Oil Factory, Daqing Oilfield Company. He used to suffer from eye problems, and often quarreled with his wife. After he began practicing Falun Gong, he became healthy and happy.

His family longs for him to return home to celebrate the Chinese New Year with them.

We ask for the immediate release of Mr. Zhao, as well as all illegally-detained Falun Gong practitioners!
