Small Business Owner: Saving as Many People as Possible

Feb. 3, 2015 |   By a practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) I'm a small business owner in China who also practices Falun Dafa. After beginning to practice Dafa in 2005, I returned to good health and lived by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Impressed by the positive changes in me, my husband and child also began to practice Dafa.

Despite my busy schedule as a retail store owner, I have reached out to many people, telling them about the preciousness of Dafa and asking them not to side with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and participate in the persecution against innocent practitioners.

Benefiting from Accepting the Truth About Dafa

I came to know Han about a year ago, but we had little to say to each other back then. When she came to my shop recently, I decided to talk to her about Dafa.

She said, “I am so tired these days.” She sat down, looking very weak, “The doctor diagnosed me with menopausal syndrome—but I am only 42. I don't know what to do.”

I couldn't pass up this opportunity and in my mind asked Teacher for help. I said, “I know something that could help you.”

She replied with an anxious look in her eyes, “What is it? Please tell me.”

My next question was, “Do you agree that the CCP is corrupt?” She responded, “Of course I do.”

“Then how about quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations?”

I wanted her to clearly understand the implication of my question, so I told her, “Since we have vowed to follow the Party upon joining, we are all acquiescent to any of their brutal actions, such as killing innocent people. By quitting the Party and its affiliates, one will be blessed and have a new future.”

Han said without hesitation, “Yes, please, help me quit. I joined the Young Pioneers during elementary school.”

After telling her about Falun Dafa, I asked her to recite “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” She agreed.

Han passed by the following day. She looked much more energetic and smiled. She said, “I slept very well last night and haven't felt so good for a long time. I really want to thank you.”

I told her to thank Falun Dafa and its Teacher. This reminded her of something and she said, “Two days ago, someone told me about a person that could help me. But, when my husband and I went to visit that person, a big dog stopped me and wouldn't let me get close. It also barked at the person when I spoke with him. In the end, we had to leave without accomplishing anything.”

She continued, “Because of the incident with the dog, my husband suspected that anything to do with that person may not be righteous. Then, in a dream, someone told me to go east for something good. That is how I ended up in your shop yesterday.”

Han thanked me again as she left, telling me that she would remember to recite “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.”

I, too, was thankful for Teacher's help.

Looking for Salted Vegetables Opens the Gate to Dafa

I met up with a friend of my neighbor a few months ago. Every time when I tried to tell him about Falun Dafa, he always dodged the topic. This worried me and I wondered if I had done something wrong.

Then, this person was told that I carried some specially prepared salted vegetable in my store.

He visited my store and said, “Can I have some salted vegetables? I want to give it to my elder sister. She loves it and we cannot find it elsewhere.” I sold some to him and gave him some for free. He seemed very happy.

Before he left, I asked him, “Can I have a word with you? It has nothing to do with salted vegetables.”

He smiled and said, “I know what you are going to say.” He paused for a bit and then continued, “We Chinese all know that the CCP is rotten, brutal and adept at lying. But there is nothing we ordinary people can do about it. I did not want you to discuss this before, because I was concerned about your safety.”

Oh, now I understood why he changed topics whenever I tried to address it in the past.

I said, “But, we do need to separate ourselves from the Party, so that we will not go down with it.” I explained to him that the CCP was already on the path of no return because of the bad things it had done, especially its persecution of those that live by the principles Truth-Compassion-Forbearance.

“Even if you use an alias to quit the organizations, it will count.” I said.

He was moved by my words and said, “What you said makes sense. Please help me quit the Party.”

From this l learned that we shouldn't assume the reason for someone's reluctance in addressing an issue. We should be open-minded and take all opportunities to save people.

Overlooking Others' Shortcomings

I recall a challenging situation with a person who often told dirty jokes. Although I had known him for several years, I did not tell him to quit the CCP because of my negative opinion of him.

One day this person stopped by at my store. I ignored him and pretended not to have seen him. That is when I remembered Teacher's words,

“Since you’ve walked in here, I’ll treat you as a human being. It’s only that there are different types of work. Even if you’re a spy, you still have a human heart, so I will treat you as an ordinary person. The type of work you do doesn’t matter.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Canada” in 1999)

So I greeted him, “How have you been? Come on in.”

His language soon became vulgar. Therefore, I asked Teacher in my mind to stop this person from using bad language, so that he could be saved.

I said, “How are your children doing? When such and such a person spoke of you the other day, she said you were a good person and respected you. I think what she said was true.”

We then talked about the corrupt Party and moral degeneration. The conversation went well, so I asked him if he had heard about quitting the CCP.

He replied, “Of course. I received many materials about Falun Dafa and I have kept all of them.”

I only needed to say a few words before he quit the CCP and its related organizations.

This experience was an eye opener for me and I was very thankful for Teacher's help and other practitioners' efforts in the past.
