24 government officials throughout Australia have sent proclamation letters wishing the Shen Yun performances great success. This is of particular interest to Chinese citizens, since Shen Yun is banned in mainland China because of its connection to Falun Gong. These proclamations show Chinese citizens that Shen Yun is welcomed the world over, as is Falun Gong, despite the pervasive propaganda to the contrary heard in China.
After watching Shen Yun, audience members share their excitement of experiencing traditional Chinese culture and the show's deeper meanings. “I do think if a person understood these messages of compassion and took that to heart and applied it, it could change people. It could change the world,” remarked one audience member.
