(Minghui.org) Since the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, a big part of the Chinese regime's strategy has been its propaganda slandering the practice. The best way to combat that has been the conduct of the practitioners, who strive to embody Falun Gong's principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Below is a story from a senior living center in Heilongjiang Province.
Mr. Zhang is a 74-year-old widower from Heilongjiang Province in northeastern China. He was homeless, and ended up in Southeast China last autumn.
He became very ill, passed out and was taken to a homeless shelter. After he woke up, staff learned where he was from and he was transferred to a senior living community in Heilongjiang.
Because of his recent sickness, Mr. Zhang was incontinent. His clothes were soiled and everyone, staff and residents, avoided him due to the unpleasant odor.
Ms. Hao Yun (alias), who resides in that community, took pity on him, removed his soiled clothes, gave him a well-needed bath and washed his clothes. She also prepared food and fed him.
Mr. Zhang was deeply grateful and told her that she was a very kind person.
She explained that she was a Falun Gong practitioner and spoke of the practice's principles. Her actions made a strong impression on the people at the center.
The owner of the facility thanked her and wanted to give her 100 yuan, which she did not accept. She said, “The founder of Falun Gong, whom we practitioners call Master, guides us to be good people, without expecting anything in return.” The owner was even more impressed.
Ms. Hao took care of Mr. Zhang and told him the facts about Falun Gong. She told him about the importance of quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliates. She explained that the CCP may not exist much longer and anyone who was still a member would be implicated and suffer the same fate. He soon quit the Young Pioneers, one of the CCP's affiliates.
Shortly after that, one of Mr. Zhang's relatives found him and took him home.
