I am 63 years old, and started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. I firmly believe in Master and the Fa, and I try my best to do the three things well. I would like to share my experiences in saving sentient beings.
I had heard from other practitioners that two remote villages near my city had no practitioners. That meant that the people there did not know much about Falun Gong, and some had a bad attitude about it. I decided to go there to clarify the facts.
At first I wanted to go with another practitioner, but he thought it was too far, and too hard to get to. I knew that Mater wanted me to eliminate my attachment to depending on others, so I prepared some materials and went by myself.
“Don't Remove the Posters Even if He Pays You in Gold”
When I got there, I delivered small booklets door-to-door, and then put posters up on walls and poles in public areas. I did this during the day.
In some villages there are people specifically assigned to remove information about Falun Gong and the persecution. As soon as I walked away from a poster I had put up, I saw someone take it down. I said to him, “How could you take down this information that could save your life? You absolutely should not do that.”
He said, “The village Party secretary told me me to do it. It is like volunteer work.” I said, “You shouldn't do it even if he pays you in gold. You can't buy your life with any amount of money.” I told him about Falun Gong, about the evil Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and the facts about the persecution. He understood, and said that he would never do it again.
I've delivered materials over the past several years to almost every household in these two villages, which prepared the way for me to explain the facts to them face-to-face, and help them quit the CCP.
“I'm Delivering Good Fortune”
Another practitioner recently joined me to clarify the facts in these two villages. We started in the most distant village and talked to everyone we met. If they understood and agreed to quit the CCP, we gave them an amulet, a booklet with more information, and a Shen Yun DVD. If they still didn't fully understand, we gave them only an amulet and a Shen Yun DVD.
There were very few people out and about during the winter, so we went door-to-door with table calendars to clarify the facts. When we knocked, most people would ask, “Who is it?” I replied, “It's me. I'm delivering good fortune.” Most people in the rural areas still believe in divinities, and they quickly opened their doors to welcome us.
I would say something like, “Ma'am, it's almost the Chinese New Year. Here is a calendar for you. I hope it will bring you and your family good fortune!” Most were happy to accept it. I continued, “I can tell that you and your family are all good people. Do you know about quitting the CCP?” Most people did not know, and asked about it.
I explained, “'Quitting the CCP' means quitting the Party, the Youth League, and the Young Pioneers. The CCP is corrupt, and the officials do not care at all about the common people. All they do is instigate movements that kill people. The gods are angry with such behavior and will soon eliminate it. But many people have joined the Party.
“To keep from being implicated with it, the gods have drawn a line and given us a chance. Those who quit are on the safe side of the line. Those who do not will be on the other side, and will suffer. You don't need to spend any money, but quitting will save your life.” Most people then agreed to quit.
Many people were very thankful, and some even asked us to stay for a meal, but we always went straight to the next household.
“Please Come Often”
At one house I said to the man who answered the door, “We are here to bring you good fortune. It's almost the Chinese New Year. Here is a calendar. Have you heard about quitting the CCP?” He immediately got angry and said, “Do you know who I am? I'm the Party secretary of this village. How dare you to talk to me about this!”
I said, “You are exactly who I'm looking for. Your life must have been blessed to be able to become an official, and I can tell you are very capable. But you don't want to be left out when it comes to knowing the facts. If you quit the CCP, you will be safe. If not, you will really be in trouble and will suffer. How can I not tell you about this?”
He looked a little worried and asked us in. He asked us questions. We answered them and explained what Falun Gong is, and about the evil nature of the CCP. In the end, he said, “I understand now. Please help me, my wife, and children quit the CCP! You are now my friend. Please come often!”
We really became friends. I later went to the village offices to clarify the facts to other officials, and several quit the CCP. This helped to make it easier to clarify the facts in the village.
“It's Lucky I Returned”
There were also times when things didn't go so smoothly. One morning, we knocked on a door, and an elderly man came out. He wouldn't listen, and cursed at me. He wanted to drive me away, and even picked up a stick to threaten us.
I smiled and walked away, saying, “I came a long distance just to save you. I'm not here to take anything from you. Why would you want to hit me?”
I then thought, “I can't just leave like this. Not only would he not be saved, he would also end up with karma. I should go back.” So I turned around and said, “Go ahead and hit me. If that makes you feel better, go ahead.”
He laughed and said, “I won't hit you. Go ahead and tell me whatever you want to tell me.” I clarified the facts for him. In the end he said, “Since you said it's good for me, I'll quit it. I'm a Party member, and I'll give you my real name.” I was very happy and thought, “It's lucky I returned! Otherwise, this man would have lost the opportunity that he has been waiting for!”
I have been to almost every house in these villages. Most days I was able to help around 60 or 70 people quit the CCP. The most was 96 people in one day, and the fewest was a little over 30. Of course I don't do it for the numbers, I just want to save the sentient beings.
Some practitioners said to me, “It is so hot in the summer and so cold in the winter. You suffer so much traveling that far.” I replied, “I don't feel cold or hot. On the path of saving sentient beings, I feel the same no matter what the weather. It's as if the temperature has no effect on me.” I know it's because Master is caring for me. Thank you, Master!
I realize that I still have many attachments, such as zealotry, the mentality of showing off, and the worst is deeply-hidden fear. Whenever they are exposed, I try to eliminate them. I will study the Fa well, cultivate diligently, do the three things well, fulfill my mission, and return home with Master.
