(Minghui.org) Mr. Zhang Hongju, a Falun Gong practitioner, was illegally arrested by officers from the Tianjin 610 Office on July 14, 2015. He is currently being held at the Nankai Detention Center.

As the backbone of the family, his arrest left the entire family in desperate financial straits. His wife and daughter are waiting hopelessly for him to return home.

Mr. Zhang, 49, a former employee of the Tax Bureau, started practicing Falun Dafa in 1995. He regained good health by practicing Falun Dafa and since then, his health has improved. Recognized as a good person, he treats others with honesty and generosity. At home he has been a good son, a good father and a good husband. To help people in disaster areas, he was active in donating money and clothes.

Mr. Zhang and his wife went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong in 1999. His wife was sent to a forced labor camp. He was detained and later fired by his work unit. He was sentenced to five years in prison in 2003. After being released, Mr. Zhang and his wife conducted small trade with peddlers in order to survive.

Due to the persecution, Mr. Zhang lost all of his teeth at the age of 49. But he harbored no regrets in facing a hard life.
