(Minghui.org) Some fellow practitioners in my area have been arrested as of late. The official reason was that they filed criminal complaints against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin who launched the persecution of Falun Gong. However, the real reason was that the evil factors in other dimensions took advantage of practitioners' loopholes. It might be irrelevant whether Jiang is sued or not. I hope my sharing can help those who haven't yet sued Jiang, so they won't be interfered with by the false impression that suing Jiang will lead to being arrested.
A fundamental question has come up while trying to bring Jiang to justice: whether and how much we believe in Master. Are we doing things with an impure heart, or doing things to be part of the group?
My understanding of the Fa's requirements is that everyone in China should be independent. By this I mean that each practitioner should be able to make their own materials to give to people that expose the persecution.
Depending on Others
I think that depending on others is a manifestation of not believing in Master.
I used to be attached to reputation and had thoughts of validating myself when I should have thought about how to validate the Fa. As a result, some practitioners started to depend on me.
After reading the Minghui editorial “Giving Speeches Amounts to Disrupting the Fa,” I have paid attention to this issue and stopped unnecessary interactions with some practitioners. My cultivation state became purer and I had more time and energy to do the three things well.
Fellow practitioners and I have sued Jiang Zemin. Several gave me their post office receipts to send in their criminal complaints against Jiang and said, “You can handle the rest.” They wanted me to send the information to the Minghui website. Some of them also asked me to write the complaints for them.
In our area, many practitioners are able to visit the Minghui website and make materials to give to people to expose the persecution. There is a group of four elderly practitioners and even they can make materials. Quite a few local practitioners are also clear on the details of filing criminal complaints.
I realized that my attachment of showing off and validating myself had not been completely removed. I felt it get stronger during the process of suing Jiang. I also saw how practitioners depended on me and did not treat cultivation seriously enough. I told the practitioners to send in their criminal complaints to the Minghui website on their own.
A month later, one of them told me, “I finally sent a copy of my complaint to the Minghui website.” I was surprised. I thought he would have sent the copy on the same day that he took back the express mail service receipt. He knew how to use the Internet, so it should not have taken him so long.
He told me that it took him a month to let go of his fear, but he overcame it and sent his copy to the Minghui website.
After he went through this process, he became stable through solid cultivation. What others said didn't matter anymore. Several other practitioners also went through the same cultivation process and sent their own complaint copies to the Minghui website.
I asked them, “You asked me to send the copies to the Minghui website. Were you not scared then?” The answer was, “Yes, we were afraid, so we asked you to do it. We knew we could trust you. You would be considerate of our safety. Even if anything would happen, you would shoulder it for us.”
They shared that it was the attachment of depending on others. Now that they had gone through the cultivation process themselves, they were more focused on saving people.
They also mentioned, “You are different than before. In the past, you wouldn't have declined our requests. You might have even organized some group complaints.”
It was a great reminder for me. I had only seen other practitioners dependent mentality as manifestation of not believing in Master and the Fa. However, I didn't look inside to see where my problem was. And it was the same problem.
Since I didn't believe in Master and the Fa, I was only thinking about myself. I thought that I was capable and others were not. So I took credit from the Fa to validate myself. I showed off my skills and took away others' cultivation opportunities. My ego had interfered with other practitioners' cultivation paths. This time, all of us were cultivating and cleaning up our incorrect state. I have not heard of any local practitioners being harassed or blocked when mailing their complaints.
Isn't it a big omission if we still depend on others or enjoy being depended on during the final stage of cultivation?
Who Do We Look For
I have seen some “celebrities” or even “mini-masters” (advisers) emerging in some areas. These kinds of people are usually very capable coordinators or righteous human rights lawyers. I call them “celebrities” or “mini-masters” because they have become the first stop that some practitioners now look to for help.
Even though every practitioner talks about believing in Master, their actions reveal who they really believe in: they take taxis or long distance buses to visit their advisors instead of reading the Fa calmly.
They follow those people's opinions and understandings and don't have their own. But their understandings should be based on the Fa. For example, once I heard a practitioner talk about suing Jiang in a certain fashion, “So and so (a TV news anchor) has said that this is a global trend.” The group then wanted to complete their criminal complaints as a group.
My understanding is that this is a key issue of who we are following. Studying the Fa calmly and looking inside can help us solve any problem.
The evil factors are looking for any human attachment to latch on to so they can persecute us. If we go beyond the superficial manifestations, we can see the real cultivation issues. If we face our own cultivation issues with the power bestowed by the Fa, we can disintegrate evil factors and even save those who are used by the evil factors. Isn't it the best?
Bringing Jiang to justice reflects a change in the cosmic climate. How can heaven's will be casually interfered with by the evil? The key is that we purify and temper ourselves by walking a righteous path grounded in the Fa.
I don't mean that fellow practitioners shouldn't help each other. However, as our cultivation elevates, “helping each other” may have different meanings. Our collective path is only one: believing in Master and the Fa.
