(Minghui.org) The moral standard in society is deteriorating rapidly everyday. However, there are a group of people who always behave in accordance with the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. They are the people who practice Falun Gong. Many people are becoming aware of this and will even make the comment, “Falun Gong practitioners are a bright refreshing spring in a world where the water is becoming muddy.”
All my illnesses disappeared when I began my practice of Falun Gong. I am very healthy and feel great. More importantly my moral standard has improved a great deal. These changes are reflected in my daily life.
I would like to share two experiences I had several years ago while working as a sales representative for construction materials.
I Will Buy Your Materials Because I Trust You
I was employed in construction materials sales. These days there are many inferior products throughout the market. This made sales even more difficult, for now we must convince customers that our products are good.
When I once introduced my products to a client, I suggested the appropriate products for him after I listened to him tell me what he had in mind and the style he was interested in for his redecorating. I also explained to him the advantages and disadvantages of the different brands we offered. He had many questions and I answered them all honestly.
He listened intently and then commented to me that I was different from other salesmen. “How so” I said. He explained: “I am usually only told how wonderful their products are. You on the other hand told me honestly the downside to the products. Why are you so honest?”
I could not help but smile when he said this. My response: “I am a Falun Gong practitioner, we follow the principle of 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance'. So I must always be honest and never exaggerate about my products. I help my customers choose the best products for their needs.” He shook my hand and said, “Thank you, thank you so much!” I trust you and so I will buy your products because I trust you.”
Then we walked over to the billing department to complete his sale. It is usually my boss who takes care of the billing. However my client asked if I could complete the billing myself. I glanced at my boss to see how he felt about this request and he nodded in approval. Then we all smiled.
I Trust You More and More
There was one client who bought a condo in the downtown area. I could tell that he wanted to redecorate with nothing but the very finest. I presented my products. After he decided on the paint he wanted for the job, he said, “I trust Falun Gong practitioners.” However, he only paid us the deposit and said he would pay the balance when the work was completed and he was satisfied.
This made my boss nervous. He was afraid the client would refuse to pay the remaining balance once the job was completed. I told my boss that I guaranteed the client would pay in full.
I had complete confidence in this customer because he told me no less than four times that he trusted me. I knew this would be a win-win situation. For one, the client was a businessman and needed to go out of town for his business so he would not be home during the two-month decorating project.
He hired me as his representative to choose the materials, the contractor, and to monitor the project. Also, my boss gave me full responsibility that my client would be satisfied and we would receive full payment, thus relieving himself of this worry. I had to do more work but after two months my client was completely satisfied with the work done and he paid in full. Everyone was happy.
Later my boss informed me that the client's deposit had not been subtracted from his final cost and would I drop by and give it to him. The next day I was out taking care of some other tasks and dropped by with the cash. The entire family was busy cleaning up the place. I helped them arrange some furniture.
When we were done I took out the cash and explained what had happened. They had forgotten all about it and were thrilled that I returned the money to them. My client exclaimed, “How wonderful. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is great. I trust you more and more.”
There are so many such experiences in my daily life. These kind of things are very common with our fellow practitioners. However, in our current society, it is hard to tell good from bad, so the selflessness of Falun Gong practitioners are a shining example in an often corrupt world. The light of Falun Gong practitioners will lead the society to a brilliant future.
