(Minghui.org) In an effort to stop Tianjin residents from suing Jiang Zemin, local police recently harassed and illegally arrested several Falun Gong practitioners for exercising their legal right to sue the former dictator.
As of August 20, 2015, 3,552 practitioners from Tianjin and their family members have filed criminal complaints against Jiang. Since June, dozens of practitioners from many districts of Tianjin were either questioned or arrested by the police, and some of the practitioners are still detained.
Below is a partial list of the cases.
Cases in Hexi District
Ms. Zhang Shulan, 72, was summoned to the Youyi Road Police Station for filing her lawsuit against Jiang. She was released one hour later.
Mr. Li Weili, 40, was arrested by officers from the Youyi Road Police Station and had his home ransacked. He was released later that day.
Ms. Ma, 74, had her home broken into by police from the Xiawafang Police Station. The police tried to arrest her but failed.
Mr. Du Jingwei was arrested by officers from the Liulin Police Station on July 25 and was illegally detained at the Caozhuangzi Detention Center for two weeks.
Ms. Wang Lichun was arrested and her home ransacked by personnel from the Tianjin City Domestic Security Division and the Taoyuan Village Police Station. She was detained for 15 days after she sued Jiang.
Mr. Guo Deyou, 78, was questioned by officers from the Youyi Road Police Station at the end of July.
Ms. Ma Shuying, was interrogated and had her home ransacked by the police on the night of July 23, 2015.
Cases in Dagang District
Gao Fengxian and Liu Shouzhen were arrested by officers from the Taiping Town Police Station at the market on the morning of July 16. They have been detained since then.
Ms. Yu Hongying was arrested together with another practitioner and released on the same day.
Ms. Sun Ti was arrested by officers from the Shengli Police Station on the morning of July 22. According to police, she was interrogated by the Dagang District Domestic Security Division, and her case was sent to the Procuratorate. She was later detained.
Mr. Han Tieqiang was summoned to the Binhai Police Station on the morning of July 23, and his home was ransacked that afternoon. Mr. Han has since been detained at the Dagang Detention Center.
Ms. Li Xiuju, Mr. Han Tieqiang's mother-in-law, had her home ransacked by officers from the Hongqilu Police Station on July 29, and her husband was detained until 8:00 p.m. that night.
Ms. Liu Wenhua, had her home broken into by officers from the Taiping Town Police on the morning of July 22; however, Ms. Liu was not at home.
Ms. Zhao Hongzhen had her home broken into by officers from the Taiping Town Police Station while her daughter was alone at home. The police showed them a blank search warrant.
Cases in Jinghai County
Mr. Hao Runjun and his wife Ms. Yang Zhiling had their home ransacked at noon on July 20 by officers from the Taitou Town Police Station. The couple was at work at the time.
Cases in Baodi District
Mr. Xing Junjie and Ms. Tian Xiuyun were arrested by officers from the Baoping Police Station while mailing their complaint letters to sue Jiang at the post office. Their family members were interrogated that night. Mr. Xing was detained for seven days and Ms. Tian was hospitalized during detention.
Cases in Wuqing District
Mr. Kong Fanwei had his home ransacked by personnel from the Chengguan Town Police Station on the morning of July 9. Police also showed him the letter he mailed to sue Jiang.
Mr. Wang Hongxin had his home broken into and ransacked by officers from the Nancai Village Police Station on the afternoon of July 21.
Ms. Zhang Yifeng and Mr. Zhang Yuqi were harassed and had their homes ransacked by police on July 21 and July 23.
Ms. Wang Guiru had her shop ransacked by the police on July 24. She was not at home at the time.
