(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners who are illegally detained in Songyuan City, Jilin Province include Ms. Zhou Yeling, Ms. Huang Ying, Ms. Wang Guozhen, Ms. Su Xiubin, Ms. Chen Liyun, Ms. Zhang Shumei and Mr. Wang Xiaoxin. As a result of the persecution, Ms. Zhou's eyesight is now blurred; Ms. Wang is partially paralyzed, and Ms. Su is emaciated.
Ms. Zhou was illegally arrested on April 22, 2015, along with another practitioner, Mr. Xin Guoquan. The police also ransacked her home, seizing two laptop computers, 5000 yuan in cash, and Falun Dafa books. They detained her in the Shanyou Detention Center. She was tried in the Ningjiang District Court, however, the sentence has not yet been announced. Ms. Zhou's family was not informed of the trial.
Ms. Huang Ying was also arrested that day, but at a different location. She was detained in the Shanyou Detention Center where she is still being held.
Ms. Wang Guozhen was arrested on April 23, 2015. The police ransacked her home and seized pictures of the founder of Falun Dafa as well as books. She was detained in the Shanyou Detention Center. As a result of being persecuted, she is partially paralyzed. She is hospitalized in the Jiling Province Police Hospital. Ms. Wang's family is not allowed to take care of her.
Ms. Shu Xiubin was arrested on April 15, 2015, and has been detained in the Shanyou Detention Center since then. She is now emaciated. Detention center officers refuse to allow her family to visit her.
Also detained were practitioners Ms. Chen Liyun, Ms. Zhang Shumei, and Mr. Wang Xiaoxin. Mr. Wang was arrested on November 28, 2015. He is on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Extremely worried by his arrest, his parents' heart problems have been exacerbated. In order to avoid being persecuted, Mr. Wang's wife has left home.
Ms. Li Yuzhen was arrested by police from Songyuan City and Fuyu City. There has been no word about her condition since she was arrested. Her family hired two lawyers to deal with the case.
The lawyers went to the Fuyu City Court to examine the case files. Staffer Zhang Lijun insisted that they return to their law office to obtain proof showing they are not Falun Gong practitioners before she would allow them to look at the files. The lawyers asked: “Do we need to show that we are not murderers or rapists if our client is a murderer or a rapist?” Zhang did not know how to reply, and claimed that she was merely taking orders from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee.
