(Minghui.org) A Procuratorate in Xingtai City, Hebei Province recently approved the arrest of Ms. Zhao Yingfen for practicing Falun Gong and spreading information about the persecution of the spiritual practice by the Chinese communist regime. A formal arrest warrant means that Ms. Zhao now likely faces trial for exercising her constitutional right to freedom of belief.
On January 1, 2016 at around 1:00 a.m., officers from the Baixiang County police department raided Ms. Zhao's home. They confiscated many items in her home, arrested her, and held her at Xingtai No. 1 Detention Center.
A week later, her husband and her lawyer tried to meet her in the detention center, but were denied visitation. The reason given was that Ms. Zhao did not comply with detention rules and regulations. The two men next went to the police department and found Domestic Security Director Wu Weizhi, who refused to release Ms. Zhao.
Another week later, on January 15, 2016, the Baixiang County Procuratorate issued an official arrest warrant for Ms. Zhao.
