(Minghui.org) Three Anqui Falun Gong practitioners were recently sentenced to prison. Ms. Li Xianzhen and Ms. Li Guifang were each sentenced to three years in prison. Ms. Yang Shuhua was sentenced to one year and fined 2,000 yuan. All three practitioners decided to appeal the sentencing.

Ms. Li Xianzhen

Ms. Li Xianzhen, 45, was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong on April 18, 2016. She was taken to the Liujiayao Brainwashing Center and later transferred to the Weifang Detention Center.

Ms. Li was tried on October 17 and October 25. Her family was not notified about the hearings. Ms. Li told the court that talking about Falun Gong to people is not a crime. She was sentenced on October 25.

Ms. Li Guifang

Ms. Li Guifang was arrested at home by officers from the Anqiu Domestic Security Division on May 25, 2016. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a printer, a computer, and other personal belongings. They stopped her 14-year-old child from going to school, instead they interrogated the child. The child was terrified.

Ms. Li was detained at the Liujiayao Brainwashing Center for about 20 days and later transferred to the Weifang Detention Center.

Ms. Li was tried on October 31. Her attorney rebutted the charges and pleaded not guilty on her behalf. She was sentenced on November 14.

Ms. Yang Shuhua

Ms. Yang Shuhua talked to a young man about Falun Gong on June 5, 2016, who reported her to the police. Ms. Yang was arrested by officers from the Chengbei Police Station and taken to the Liujiayao Brainwashing Center. The brainwashing center authorities released her because she developed high blood pressure.

Ms. Yang was tried on August 25 and October 17. She told the court that she gave the young man a Falun Gong informational booklet, which is not a crime. She was sentenced on November 7.
