(Minghui.org) Mr. Wang Changchun was tried by the Gaoxin District Court in Zibo City, Shandong Province on October 25, 2016. This is the second hearing since Mr. Wang was arrested in March for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime, who launched and directed the brutal persecution of Falun Gong.
Mr. Wang's attorney examined the evidence submitted by the prosecutor before the hearing. When watching the video of Mr. Wang's arrest, he got angry to see the violent actions of the officers from the Gaoxin District Police Station and pounded the table.
In the video, a group of plainclothes officers mistreated Mr. Wang. Mr. Wang kept asking, “What crime did I commit?” Nobody answered. The police searched the schoolbag of Mr. Wang's son and forbade him to go to school.
They did not allow Mrs. Wang to call the school or her company. They tried to force her to sign the list of confiscated items even though she was not allowed to witness the whole arrest process. Mrs. Wang refused to sign and her arms were cuffed behind her back. The child was crying and the officers scolded him.
Mr. Wang's attorney pleaded not guilty on his behalf. He rebutted all the evidence. He said that the evidence did not prove that Mr. Wang was guilty, instead, it showed him to be a good man.
Mr. Wang also pleaded not guilty. He said that he filed the legal complaints against Jiang as permitted by law. All that he stated in the complaint letter were facts. He also argued that practicing Falun Gong is protected by the constitution.
Mr. Wang also told the court how he benefited physically and mentally from practicing Falun Gong. Falun Gong teaches people to be good. He strives to constantly improve himself and lives by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
The court was heavily guarded on the trial day. Only two family members were allowed to attend the hearing.

Background Information
Jiang Zemin, as head of the CCP, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong in July 1999.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 17 years. More have been tortured for their belief, and even killed for their organs. Jiang is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the CCP established an extralegal security organ, the 610 Office, on June 10, 1999. This organization overrides the police and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's policy regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law now allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are exercising this right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
