Guangdong Court Forges Evidence after Lawyer Questions Validity of Arrest

Dec. 21, 2016 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Guangdong Province

(Minghui.org) Mr. Liu Qingyang, a resident of Guangzhou City, was tried on November 8, 2016, for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. His lawyer argued that the police never produced a search warrant when they arrested him and ransacked his home on December 3, 2015.

Just a few days after the hearing, the court informed the lawyer to review the case file again. The lawyer was shocked to see that a search warrant had been added. Also new was a note saying the arresting officers signed and read aloud the search warrant to Mr. Liu before they arrested him.

Mr. Liu’s wife and her parents, who were present at the time of his arrest, told the lawyer that the police never produced or read a search warrant to them.

Mr. Liu remains detained and has not been able to meet his son, who was born shortly after his arrest.
