Police Supervisor Changed His Attitude Toward Falun Dafa in Two Days

Feb. 8, 2016 |   By a practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) A police officer called me last Friday and told me to come to the police department to meet with his supervisor. I told him I was busy, but could come on Sunday. After I hung up the phone, I began to send forth righteous thoughts. On Sunday, right after my arrival at the police department, the police supervisor and an officer began to coerce me to withdraw the lawsuit I filed against Jiang Zemin (the former head of the Chinese Communist Party, who initiated the persecution of Falun Dafa). They photographed me and took a sample of my blood. The police supervisor told me in a stern voice: “You are here to stay!”

I overcame my fear and began to clarify the truth with compassion. I reminded them to pay attention to the “lifelong accountability system of major administrative decisions” set up by the government on October 20, 2014. I also told them about the new policy in China’s judiciary system: “docketing all cases that should be docketed and handling all complaints that should be handled.” I paraphrased for them Item 41 in China’s Constitution: “Citizens have the right to sue state agencies or government officials for abuse of power.” I told the officers that their actions to coerce me to withdraw the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin was against the law, and was an obstruction of justice.

They listened carefully. The police head told me, “You can go home now.” I said, “I want to have a few words with you.” He led me to a different room and said, “There's no surveillance here. What do you want to say?” I said, “Please keep your options open and don’t go down with Jiang Zemin. Otherwise, no one can defend you in the future.”

The next day, the police supervisor called me for an appointment. We met at my daughter’s home. He showed me a search warrant and an inventory list, “We decided not to search your home. I have completed the list, indicating that nothing was found. I also modified the note I took on you to downplay your case. Please sign your name on the note.” After carefully reading the note, I wrote the following statement: “Filing a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin is my legal right.” He said politely, “OK, I will turn the document in to my supervisor. I will keep you posted.”

After the change in the police supervisor’s attitude over those two days, I could feel a change in the police when interacting with them about Falun Dafa issues. They are taking a balanced approach: while trying to fulfill the assignments from their supervisors, they are also keeping their options open.
