(Minghui.org) My name is Suying and I started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. My father also practices. He worked for the city government before he retired. We live in a gated apartment complex set aside for government officials. These communities are guarded by security personnel. The people who live here are usually confident and arrogant.
My father and I visit the elderly and retired officials in our community, and give them the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and informational materials about Falun Gong. We also tell them how Falun Gong is being unlawfully persecuted, and how the Party has murdered millions of Chinese. My father advises them to withdraw their Party membership. We usually visit each family at least three times. Now, more than 95 percent of the residents in our community have quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.
One elderly retired officer participated in the Korean War. We visited him six times, but he refused to withdraw from the CCP. I knew we needed to be patient and compassionate. I kept visiting him even when he yelled at me or did not welcome me. I said, “You watched me grow up. Am I a bad person? Would I deceive you? Think about the Party, how was it set up? From the very beginning it's goal was to kill people. It has orchestrated many political movements including the Cultural Revolution. Now it's persecuting Falun Gong and conducting live organ harvesting. It's responsible for the deaths of more than 80 million people since it took power. It is so evil!”
The officer said, “The deaths you mentioned were because of some bad individual officials. Many of those movements were corrected afterwards. How can that be called evil?” I said, “Yes, the Party always arrests some officials in order to blame them after each movement, but the system has never changed. After some officials are publicly blamed and killed, whoever is in power continues to commit wrongdoing.” This time he agreed with me. He did not yell, instead he asked me some questions.
He sat silently thinking after I answered. Soon, his facial expression became unhappy and he said, “Suying. I am old. I cannot betray the Party!” I said, “What I am doing is for your sake. Please think it over before you decide.”
To take the pressure off him, I changed the topic and said, “What do you think of my father's health?” He said, “Even though your father is in his 90s, he looks very healthy. His complexion looks great.” I said, “Before, my father had to be hospitalized several times a year. After he started practicing Falun Gong, he hasn't taken any shots or pills. He's healthier than he's ever been. Falun Gong has marvelous effect on healing and fitness.”
I continued, “Our Teacher asks us to follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be better people. The book Falun Gong has been translated into over 30 languages. Falun Gong has spread to over 100 countries. But only in China, is Falun Gong being persecuted. When it rains, don't we use an umbrella? Heaven is disintegrating the Party. We need to distance ourselves from the Party. Do you understand?” He closed his eyes, and I saw that he was tired, so I left.
I received a call a few months later and was told he was hospitalized. I rushed to the hospital. He was very weak but his mind was clear. I wrote on a piece of paper, “Falun Dafa is great. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” I asked him gently, “Can you remember these words?” He read the words three times in a low voice. The final time was almost soundless. I asked him if he wished to quit the Party. He nodded gently yes. I was touched because I knew he chose a bright future.
Soon afterwards, I had a dream. I saw the elderly veteran wearing a white robe and playing an ancient Chinese musical instrument.
Because of family connections, most of the children or grandchildren of the residents in my community have government jobs or highly sought after white collar jobs in courts or banks. I visit them and advise them to quit their membership in the CCP and its affiliated organizations. When they see that their older relatives have decided to withdraw, they also agree and quit the Party. Afterward, they look out for me or tell me if any police or officials are planning to persecute me. I also talk with their school-age children and ask them to withdraw from the Party during summer vacation.
For the last seven or eight years, I have been going out every morning to explain the facts and help to withdraw their memberships in the Party. I've gone to homes, apartment complexes, work units, parks, and street vendors. Whoever I meet, I tell them about the persecution and advise them to withdraw from the Party.
