(Minghui.org) A daughter was arrested for seeking the release of her father and currently faces trial.
Ms. Liu Wenru recently went to the police department to request that her father, Mr. Liu Qingfu, be released from the detention center. Her father was arrested on September 24, 2015 along with three others for distributing Falun Gong materials.
Mr. Zhu Qiangong, Mr. Gao Yulin, and Ms. Liu Shuhua are the other Falun Gong practitioners. Their families were denied visitation and kept in the dark about their loved ones' situations.
Mr. Liu and His Daughter
Mr. Liu was a man of few words. Although he owns a company and is wealthy, he has always been thrifty. In his daughter's eyes, he is a great father who always thinks of others. For instance, he often bought goods that he did not really need from people to help them through college.
Ms. Liu is also kindhearted and upright. She was arrested many times for not giving up on practicing Falun Gong. She was arrested again for seeking her father's release.
Mr. Liu's wife was in tears when she spoke of her husband and daughter. “How will I survive? My granddaughter (Ms. Liu Wenru's child) wants her mother and can't focus on her studies. She is under tremendous mental pressure. Her classmates are talking behind her back.”
The Other Practitioners
Mr. Zhu had many bad habits before he practiced Falun Gong. He smoked, drank, and gambled. He had a bad temper and made a scene at the police station when he was drunk. Since he started practicing Falun Gong in 1997, he turned over a new leaf and regained his health. He was detained in 2000 for appealing in Beijing and forced to leave home in 2010 to avoid arrest.
Like Mr. Zhu, Mr. Gao smoked and drank. He often fought with and swore at others. After starting to practice Falun Gong in 1997, he got rid of his bad habits. Harmony was restored to his family of three. His arrest made it difficult for his wife to make ends meet.
Ms. Liu stayed with her daughter after her divorce. She is a kindhearted person who is content with life even though she has little income.
