(Minghui.org) When I was once talking with someone about Falun Gong, the person looked surprised, “I thought Falun Gong was banned a long time ago. Are there still people practicing it?”
“Yes, the Communist Party did try to stop people from practicing Falun Gong and they spread many lies defaming it,” I told the person, “but many have come to know the facts of what Falun Gong is about and have become practitioners.” The following are two stories of family members who started practicing.
A Daughter and Son-in-law Experiences Miraculous Benefits
Practitioner "Yan" used to be in poor health. At one point, her doctor said that she had 33 health problems. The worst was late-stage liver ascites, pushing her to the verge of death.
After practicing Falun Gong, the illnesses vanished and Yan regained her health. But when she told people the health benefits of Falun Gong, it led to her being arrested and detained on many occasions. To avoid further persecution, she moved to another city and lived with her daughter.
Seeing her mother suffering from detention and torture, Yan's daughter and son-in-law tried to convince her to give up cultivation. Yan refused and explained to them why Falun Gong was so important to her, “Falun Gong gave me a second life and a positive attitude in life. Do you want me to give it up and have those illnesses return?”
Yan's daughter agreed and often helped to organize Falun Gong materials. Whenever Yan was arrested for telling others the facts of Falun Gong, her daughter would go the police or brainwashing center to get her mother released.
The good deeds of Yan's daughter resulted in blessings for her family. Not only did her daughter survive several car accidents uninjured, she also found a job where she was promoted to vice president. The president of the company praised her personality, “Right now, it is hard to find people like you who are neither greedy nor accepting kickbacks.”
“Try Falun Gong practitioners,” she replied, “they're all this way.”
Practitioner "Yichen's" son-in-law also supported her cultivation. One day a police officer went to his store and saw a banner about Falun Gong.
“Take it down,” ordered the officer.
“No, I won't,” he replied, “I want to feel safe and secure. Nothing helps me feel this way other than the banner.”
The officer later left. The banner is displayed in the store to this day.
One time after Yichin was arrested, a police officer asked her son-in-law, “Your mother-in-law was arrested for her belief. Do you still support her?”
“Of course, she is innocent,” he replied.
After Yichin was released, both her daughter and son-in-law became Falun Gong practitioners.
Several Family Members Start to Practice Falun Gong
Practitioner "Min" faced persecution by local officials. The officials ordered her to stay at home and had her sister and brother-in-law monitor her non-stop and not let her read any Falun Gong books.
However, after Min patiently explained the benefits she derived from Falun Gong, both physically and mentally, her sister was touched and began to practice.
When local practitioners gathered to share their cultivation experiences in 2010, Min told the story of her son, practitioner "Yong."
Yong was in the army. After returning home to get married, he was driving his family in their car. It was winter and the road was very slippery due to a recent snowstorm. “I know it is a challenging drive for four of them—my son, daughter-in-law, and her parents. So I told them the facts of Falun Gong and how innocent practitioners were wronged, as well as giving them a copy of Zhuan Falun. I told my son's mother-in-law that they would be blessed if they took good care of the book and supported Falun Gong,” Min said.
When driving through Weifang City, Shandong Province, conditions worsened, and there were many traffic accidents. Yong tried to apply his brakes, but they didn't work and the car slid. At that moment, Yong closed his eyes and in his mind and asked Master Li, the founder of Falun Gong, for help.
When he opened his eyes, he saw cars passing by him quickly. But his car had safely stopped. He was very thankful and knew Master had saved his entire family.
Despite these experiences, Yong's brother-in-law was not convinced. He used crutches to walk because of leg pain. After hearing the facts of Falun Gong, he also became supportive, and to his surprise, one day his leg pain was gone and he no longer needed the crutches.
This experience led Yong's brother-in-law to become a Falun Gong practitioner. After hearing another practitioner's husband had low back pain and needed surgery that cost 160,000 yuan (about USD $25,000), he visited the husband and told him about Falun Gong. The husband began to practice Falun Gong, too. His leg problems disappeared and he no longer needed the surgery and became healthier overall.
These are stories of two families. There are likely millions of other families who have benefited from Falun Gong.
