(Minghui.org) There are 8 practitioners in our Fa-study group, ranging in age from 65 to 80 years old, and we all began practicing Falun Dafa in 1997.
The most educated are high school graduates and the least educated did not go to school at all. Nonetheless, all of us are now able to read Zhuan Falun. We do not chat about other things during Fa-study, as we concentrate on reading. Our little Fa-study group is very harmonious.
Jing was illiterate before she began practicing Falun Dafa. With faith in Dafa and help from other practitioners, she improved quickly. Now she is able to read all the Falun Dafa books. She says, “A miracle happened because Master helped me.”
Even though Zhou is the oldest member of our group, her steps are quick and light and her voice is soft and pleasant. “I used to be impatient,” she said. She recalls one time when she and another practitioner talked to someone about Falun Dafa, but they did not want to listen. Zhou said she became upset and raised her voice, trying to convince him. In the end, the man swore at her and left.
When she thought it over, Zhou realized she still had a hot temper. “I'm a Falun Dafa practitioner and I must follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” she said. She was able to speak slowly with compassion. After she found her compassion many people are now willing to listen when she talks about the persecution.
Mei and Lian, both in their 60s, often do the exercises together and tell people about Falun Dafa. Two years ago Mei developed symptoms of hydrothorax, became very weak and vomited blood. Her family began planning for her funeral. Because she knows she's a Falun Dafa practitioner, Mei knew she would be all right. She kept sending forth righteous thoughts and continued to do what she was supposed to do.
When she recovered, Mei's family and friends were surprised. “We are so happy! We thought you would not make it,” they said.
Despite her age, Lian often goes out on her motorized tricycle and distributes information about Falun Dafa. She and Mei visit bus stops, construction sites, stores, and hospitals. They talk with people and debunk the defamatory propaganda against Falun Dafa. Neither freezing winter weather nor the burning heat of summer stops them.
Recently Udumbara blossoms were seen blooming in Lian's yard and she knew it was Master encouraging us.
Huang, a retired teacher, is the most educated practitioner among us. During Fa-study, when we cannot read a word she always helps us.
No matter where she goes, Huang always remember to tell others about Falun Dafa. During a recent family trip to the United States, she was not only able to meet some practitioners, but was also able to share her story with the other tourists she was traveling with. After hearing how the Chinese Communist Party is persecuting practitioners, some of her fellow travelers decided to withdraw from their Party membership.
This is our Fa-study group. We know we are fortunate and we do our best to tell everyone how wonderful Falun Dafa is!
