(Minghui.org) More than fifty Falun Gong practitioners were arrested in Zibo City, Shandong Province on March 21-22, 2016. The practitioners were from the city’s three districts: Zhangdian, Gaoxin, and Zichuan. Most were arrested at home, and some had their homes ransacked and their personal belongings confiscated.
The arrested practitioners included Huang Futang and his wife, Wang Dong, Fang Kuanfeng, Wang Lihong, Wang Changchun, Wang Changqing, Zhang Meng, Yao Qian, Zhang Wei (a non-practitioner), Lian Bo, Bi Zhongmei, Niu Qingchuan, Hu Yiqin, Wang Hao, Yan Hong'en, Shi Yuzhuo, Du Liqing, Li Yan, Li Ying, Shen Xiangjun, Wang Liang, and Zhou Liyu.
Niu Qingquan and Hu Yiqin from Taihe Town, Zichuan District were arrested in their rented apartments, along with Wang Hao from Zhangdian District in the late-night hours of March 21.
Wang Changchun, Wang Changqing, Yao Qian, Fang Kuanfeng, and Zhang Wei were arrested the following morning in their homes. The 610 Office personnel also searched their homes.
Officers from the Jiazhuang Police Station in Zhangdian District arrested Yang Hong'en and his wife Shi Yuzhuo in the early morning hours of March 22, at the couple’s home. They were released that afternoon.
Du Liqing was arrested near his home on Jixiang Road, in the Zichuan District.
Twenty officers ransacked Shen Xiangjun’s home in the Chengsan Subdivision, and took a computer, a printer, Falun Gong books and other materials. When Mr. Shen strongly refused, the police failed to arrest him.
Li Yan from Zichuan District, and her sister Li Ying from Zhangdian District were both arrested on the afternoon of March 22.
Huang Futang from Zhangdian District was arrested, and his home searched by police, who confiscated Falun Gong books and materials. He is still detained in the Fujia Detention Center.
That afternoon, Wang Liang and his mother Zhou Liyu from Tianjia Village in the Zhangdian District were arrested by plainclothes officers.
Du Liqing, Wang Hao, Yan HongEn, and Shi Yuzhuo have been released.
A police officer told a practitioner that they were monitoring Falun Gong practitioners before the mass arrest.
