(Minghui.org) Four Jurong City citizens were arrested on December 14, 2015 for resisting the persecution of Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Jiang Song was formally arrested this February and is now facing possible indictment at the Jurong City Detention Center.
All four Falun Gong practitioners were mistreated during detention. The police cuffed their hands behind their backs and provided only a subsistence amount of water and bread each day.
Ms. Qu Beixiang was released after 32 days, but she was deceived into paying bail of 5,000 yuan on February 22 of this year. She has now left home to avoid further arrest.
Ms. Kong Qingfang was released in about 10 days, only to be arrested later and detained for another 15 days. The police indicated that the second arrest was due to an official criminal complaint that she filed against Jiang Zemin, in which she accused the former Chinese dictator of launching the persecution of Falun Gong that resulted in her past detentions.
Ms. Zhang Qihua once fainted while on a hunger strike to protest her illegal arrest and had to be rushed to a hospital. She was incarcerated for several more days before being released. To date, the police haven't returned her ID, confiscated during the arrest.
Background
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law now allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
