(Minghui.org) Ms. Yang Shuhua is a Falun Gong practitioner from Shifang City, Sichuan Province. She was detained in the Deyang Prison Administration Center for a year until she was transferred to Longquanyi Prison on May 12, 2016.
Just 12 days later, Ms. Yang's family received a call from the prison, telling them that she needed to have surgery and was being taken to Jintang Prison Hospital. The prison administrators wanted the family to give their permission. Ms. Yang's family couldn’t understand it, because when her mother and sister visited her on May 9, she seemed fine.
Ms. Yang's sister went to Jintang Prison Hospital in Qingjiang Town, Jintang County, on May 25, 2016. The doctor in charge told her that Ms. Yang had a uterine fibroid tumor and needed to have it removed.
Ms. Yang's sister asked to see Ms. Yang before she gave permission, but she was told she couldn't. The family refused to sign the surgery permission and are now wondering what happened to her during the short period of time she was in Longquanyi Prison.
Ms. Yang was arrested in May 2015 and sentenced to 3 years in prison in December.
