Aug. 19, 2016 |   By a Minghui correspondent from Shandong Province, China

(Minghui.org) Though more and more people are coming to know the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong, practitioners in China today still face harassment and possible criminal charges. What’s more, even citizens who support Falun Gong run the risk of harassment.

Mr. Zhao Chuanwen and Mr. Zhou Guangming were arrested on December 24, 2015, when they were passing out flyers about Falun Gong. The two men are being held at Hedong Detention in Linyi City.

In a petition to gain the two practitioners’ release, family members, relatives, and friends gathered over a hundred signatures with fingerprints. The sympathizers are urging the authorities to investigate the case and release the men.

After the petition was publicized, however, the police found a reason to harass the sympathizers. On July 23, Several plainclothes officers arrived at Mr. Zhao Chuanwen’s village. At the village office, the police told Party secretary, chief Wang Qicheng, to call the villagers who signed the petition to the office one by one.

During the recorded interrogations, the police forced the villagers to recall their petition. They threatened the villagers with various means such as demotion or cutting payments of veterans benefit, poverty compensation, and disability welfare. They said that they also planned to bar children from school if their parents would not comply.

The police are currently looking for Mr. Zhou Guangming’s daughter and relatives.
