(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 20 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 22 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Yafen and Ms. Yu Guifang Detained

Ms. Liu Yafen and Ms. Yu Guifang from the Fangshan District were arrested by officers from the Chengguan Police Station when they talked to people about Falun Gong on July 4, 2016. They were held in the Fangshan District Detention Center.

2. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Xiong Arrested

Ms. Xiong, about 60, was arrested at home by staff from the Honggang Residential Community and the residential police officers on July 8, 2016.

3. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuzhi Detained

Ms. Zhang Xiuzhi from Yaozhanzhuang Village located in the North Industrial Park was arrested at noon on July 7, 2016. She is being held in the Qinhuangdao Detention Center.

4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shi Ying Arrested

Ms. Shi Ying from the Jinshitan Area was arrested by several officers from the Dongjiagou Police Station in the Dalian Development Zone on the morning of June 28, 2016. Her home was ransacked.

5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Xiulian Arrested

Ms. Yu Xiulian from Zhifu District was recently followed and arrested by Zhang Minghui and other officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Zhifu District Police Department. She was taken to the Baishilu Police Station, and then to the Lijiaoqiao Police Station. She was released that afternoon. The officers confiscated a computer and 7,000 yuan from her home.

6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Aiqin Detained

Ms. Liu Aiqin from Ganjingzi District was arrested on the morning of June 28, 2016. She is being held in the Jinnanlu Drug Rehabilitation Center for 15 days.

7. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Wang Meiying Arrested

Ms. Wang Meiying from Hengshan County was arrested by officers from the Hengshan Police Department, the 610 Office, and the State Security Division on October 22, 2015.

8. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Eleven Practitioners Detained

Ms. Guo Xin, Mr. Zhou Degang, Mr. Zhao Peng, Ms. Pu Rui'e, Mr. Wang Weirong, Ms. Xu Xuemei, Ms. Tian Furong, Ms. Yang Guixiang, Ms. Zhu Xiuxia, Ms. Liu Weiyan, and Ms. Dai Guilian were arrested for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. They are being held in the Rizhao City Detention Center.

9. [Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Guiqin, Ms. Ji Yanfang, Ms. Yin, Ms. Gao, Ms. Wang, and Ms. Zhang were arrested in November 2015 by officers from the Dabiangou Police Station in Beiguan District, who broke in by breaking the door.

The practitioners were studying Falun Gong teachings together.

Two practitioners are still being held in the Zhuanyaowan Drug Rehabilitation Center, and the other four were released.

10. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qi Shurong Detained

Ms. Qi Shurong from Siguanyingzi Township was arrested by officers from the Pingfangzi Township Police Station on the morning of July 9, 2016 for telling people about Falun Gong. She was held in the Chaoyang Detention Center.

11. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Teng Shijun Arrested

Mr. Teng Shijun was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division and the Xin'an Police Station in Longtan District on May 12, 2016. The officers confiscated a computer and a printer.

12. [Anyi County, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Li Ying Detained

Mr. Li Ying, 28, was arrested by officers from the Anyi County Domestic Security Division on July 20, 2015 for studying Falun Gong teachings and sharing experiences online. She has been held in the Anyi County Detention Center.

13. [Luoshan County, Henan Province] Ms. Ren Ling Arrested

Ms. Ren Ling was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Domestic Security Division when she posted Falun Gong informational materials on July 5, 2016. Her whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Shanghai] Ms. Shen Xiufang Arrested

Ms. Shen Xiufang from Qibao Town in Minhang District was arrested by officers from the Qibao Police Station when she talked to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of July 9, 2016. Her home was ransacked.

15. [Suizhong County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ding Qingyan and Mr. Pei Zhonghua Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Ding Qingyan and Mr. Pei Zhonghua were each sentenced to one year in prison and fined 5,000 yuan by the Suizhong County Court on June 13, 2016. They have appealed to the Huludao City Intermediate Court.

Mr. Ma Minghai, Ms. Ma Jinying, and more than ten practitioners were arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Qindu District Police Department and the Xilanlu Police Station on May 10, 2016. Six of them were released that evening. The rest of the practitioners were detained in the Wujiapu Detention Center for 15 days. Mr. Ma and Ms. Ma were placed in criminal detention and transferred to the Qindu District Detention Center.
