(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 were illegally arrested.

1. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Nine Practitioners Imprisoned

Ms. Wu Jinping was sentenced to seven years. She is imprisoned at Shenyang Women's Prison, although she has severe anemia, uterine tumor, and bleeding.

Ms. Xu Jinfeng was sentenced to seven years. She is incarcerated in Shenyang Women's Prison.

Mr. Zhao Hongjun was sentenced to four years.

Mr. Wang Guojun and Mr. Wang Qing were sentenced to five years. Both of them have been sent to prisons.

Other known imprisoned practitioners in Shenyang Women's Prison are: Ms. Sun Baoying who was sentenced to six years; Ms. Chen Guilan who was sentenced to four years; Ms. Zhang Yuzhuo who was sentenced to ten years, and Ms. Jia Guiqin who was sentenced to thirteen years.

2. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Jingchun Arrested

Mr. Li Jingchun of Zhaoduba Township was arrested on July 13, 2016 by officers from Beita Police Department when he was telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

3. [Yibin City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Xinjian Imprisoned

Ms. Zhang Xinjian, 75, is a resident of Cuiping District. She was transferred to Jiazhou Prison in Leshan City from Yibin City Detention Center on July 8, 2016.

4. [Chongqing] Mr. Wen Bangyu Detained

Mr. Wen Bangyu of Chayuanxinqu, 62, was arrested on July 11, 2016 by officers from Chayuan Police Station when he was telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. His home was ransacked. He is incarcerated at Yuzhong District No. 1 Detention Center.

5. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Practitioners in Nanhuhuayuancheng, Ms. Li Xiane, Mr. Fu Guoqi, Ms. Xia, Ms. Yang, and Ms. Chen, were arrested at Ms. Li's home on the afternoon of July 12, 2016 by plainclothes officers from Huarong District Domestic Security Division, Ezhou City.

6. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Chen Mingying Arrested

Ms. Chen Mingying of Luyang District was arrested on July 8, 2016 by officers from Yiminjie Police Station when she was telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked.

7. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Li Hong Arrested

Ms. Li Hong, of Gulou District, was arrested on July 8, 2016 by officers from Gulou Police Station when she returned home from visiting her family in Xuzhou City. Her home was ransacked.

8. [Chongqing] Mr. Zheng Kaiyuan Tortured by Drug Injection

Mr. Zheng Kaiyuan, 78, is a retired teacher in Hechuan District. He was taken to Wuzun Brainwashing Center on the afternoon of June 13, 2016 by agents from the 610 Office. After agents injected him unknown drugs, he suffered muscular atrophy, blurred vision, faded memory, and weight loss. He was released.

9. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Liang Shunjing’s Situation Worrying

Mr. Liang Shunjing was sentenced to ten years and three months in prison after being tried in March 2016. His lawyer recently visited him in Qinhuang Detention Center and found his situation was worrying.

He was found to have three tumors on his body after he was taken to the detention center. The lawyer saw that the tumor on his thigh had grown larger and was the size of a fist. The tumor on his bottom was larger than an egg. Mr. Liang has often felt tightness in his chest and couldn’t sleep well. His face looked wan and sallow. He lost weight, and much of his hair has turned gray.

10. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Six Practitioners Tried

Mr. Deng Qingshan, Ms. Ru Hongwei, Ms. Cheng Yuhua, Ms. Kou Lanfang, Ms. Kou Yaqin, and Ms. Guo Yufang from Fuyu County were arrested on February 22, 2016. Fuyu County Court tried the six practitioners on June 30, 2016.

Only two family members were allowed to enter the court for each practitioner. Mr. Deng and Ms. Ru’s lawyers defended their innocence.

Mr. Deng is currently held in Fuyu Detention Center, while the other five practitioners are held in Shuanghe Detention Center.

11. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hou Baoqin Still Detained

Ms. Hou Baoqin was arrested on March 12, 2015 for passing out Shen Yun DVDs. Judge Wang Qiang held three trial sessions against her on July 22, September 15, and September 22, 2015.

Wang Qiang created a lot of barriers to prevent her lawyer from defending her. Her lawyer has filed a complaint and sued Wang Qiang for his abuse of power.

Ms. Hou’s family hired another lawyer on May 10, 2016. The lawyer met with Ms. Hou and learned that the court has kept postponing the trial.

Ms. Hou received a written order from Judge Wang Qing, saying the trial was suspended due to an unknown reason. However, Ms. Hou is still detained.
